Spot on, but at the end of the day he won't ever hold the belt again. He has a chance against Gane based off experience but if he loses they will release him.

I can see a bunch of "names" getting cut before the end of the year, like Dana said, some of which are probably hinging on an upcoming loss.

Gane has legit potential, one of the most exciting heavyweight prospects in recent years for me.

However part of me is thinking about experience - Gane is super green and JDS can be quite crafty, I think there's a chance that JDS plays a defensive game and wins a decision.

Technical just means you are using traditional text book technique. That's why in fighting it's more about being effective than being "technical". Plus "unorthodox" fighters are actually "technical" but just not "textbook traditional technical". It's just labeled "unorthodox" because they have techniques that stray away from the traditional normal teachings.

Like Lomachenko is considered "unorthodox" but it would be foolish to say he isn't "technical".

I think juiced Jones would have been hard pressed to survive against prime Dos Santos; I don't think he ever fought a striker with that power, accuracy and reach.
Now, I can see it going either way, depending on how Jones adjusts to HW.
