What the fuck happened here? That can’t be accurate, can it? I’ve never seen a record like that before in wrestling. Does it happen often?

Also, from this we must conclude that Dave Marble would be UFC Bantamweight champion with 6 months of boxing training. That’s if he wants to take a break from tagteaming chicks with Jim Cozad.

Marble Bless. Jim Cozad aka Jim GOATzad.

EDIT: Thread isn’t intended to bash the man, nor discredit him. It’s just a bizarre record to see and wanted to know if anyone knew more about it.

Dog those are championships, he got to those bouts that means he is pretty good to even get there regardless of losing.

So he got to the championship stage but never won there, essentially?

Plenty of incredible athletes out there that never realized a championship. When you get to that level the margin for error is razor thin since everyone is so evenly matched.

That's like saying Ty Cobb is a shitty baseball player because he never won a World Series.

Barry Sanders sucked at football because the lions didn't win a super bowl.

Don't like TJ, but this is petty and stupid. He was a multiple time D1 national qualifier competing in a weight class that he was undersized for at the time.

That's a far better record than most guys who are lucky enough to wresle at that level in college.

Those are championship matches.

No- They were not.

In every NCAA tournament, TJ lost in the first round, getting pushed into the consolation bracket. Then he lost in the first round in the consolation bracket. He never won an NCAA National tournament match in his entire collegiate career.

That does not mean he is a dog shit wrestler. Because only the best 32 wrestlers in each weight class even make it to the NCAA tournament. But what it does mean is that among those top 32 wrestlers, he was dog shit. None of those scores are particularly competitive.

It literally says ncaa championship matches...

Not really. None of those matches were for any kind of championship. He would need to win at least 3 matches in the NCAA tournament to have a chance at placing even top 8. He never won 1.

But only the top 32 in each weight class even make it to the tournament. So he had to be pretty damn good just to get there. It's no small thing to make it to the NCAA Wrestling championships.
