I didnt start watching the UFC until Tuf 1, before that I watched Pride

Pride: Total elimination 2003.
The fight card that got me into mma was Pride:8 return of the wrriors dvd, Still one of my fovorite cards of all time

First PPV was UFC 98, holy fuck did it deliver.

Think I caught the TUF 1 finale but could have just seen a rerun. Watched the season and main card of TUF 5 and UFC 92 (Ultimate 2008). UFN 19 (Diaz vs Guillard) started my hardcore fandom and haven't really missed too many free cards since. 107 (Penn vs Sanchez) was my first on ppv, and the FS1 premier was my first card attended in person.

So yea I'm pretty much a petty TUF noob.

Liddell vs. Ortiz 2 was the first event I watched

I remember being terrified of Chuck at the time. His pre-fight interview was him saying something like "I can't wait to get my hands on this kid" in that deep raspy Chuck voice

First PPV was Chuck vs Randy 2. Still remember watching Mayhem wiggle out of everything a young GSP put him in.

First live event was UFC 42. Hughes vs Sherk was the main event, but the fight I remember beset was Bang Ludwig vs Genki Sudo. It was controversial.

I had never watched MMA before and my older brother was getting me into it, so I was blindly rooting for the American. Plus Sudo was doing that weird shit where he was coming at Bang with his back turned. I thought it to be showboating and didn't like it.

Bang was getting worked in the 3rd with Sudo on top. Bang was cut from GnP. After the cut they stood the fighters up which obviously was a huge advantage for Bang. Bang wound up getting the best of the stand up and did a funny crane pose at the end mocking Sudo. He went on to win a controversial UD. I loved it and have been watching MMA since.

That said, it was a pretty bullshit decision and I probably would be pissed off if a fight had gone that way today, but it got me into MMA.

Pride 28 was the 1st PPV that I got. That puts me at about a year before TUF 1. I was a casual renting UFC VHS tapes long before that.

I watched all the UFC VHS tapes available from blockbuster in HS 95-97

Then lost interest while chasing tail and doing lots of drugs and drinking in college.

first event I recall watching live was randy vs chuck 2

technically that would make me a “tuf noob” which I fondly recall being called on this board in approximately 2005-2006 or so, but it was actually pride reruns on TV which I saw while recovering from a shoulder surgery which lead to me watching MMA highlights and eventually following the sport closely.
