Islam Makhachev: Whats up with all the champion hype around him?

Whenever I see his name brought up I see a lot of people claiming he’s the next champion at 155 once Khabib retires in a few fights. Some of those same posters even say he would be champ right now if Khabib wasn’t holding his spot back.

Islam has beaten NO ONE ranked top 15. He got KO’d by a BJJ specialist (who has lost 3 in a row since). He had a very competitive grappling heavy fight versus an undersized Arman Tsarukyan who should probably be competing at 145lbs.

I just don’t see what’s so special about him. Is it just hardcore khabob fanboys who are hyping him up as the next champ? Or are there any unbiased posters who truly believe he’s that great?

Dude is on a 6 fights win streak. Apart from that lucky strike he dominated every single second of every round in those fights. Dude is a machine and proved he can ragdoll D1 wrestlers and Elite grapplers.

When he start facing strikers it will be like his fight vs Kajan Johnson all over again.

You do realise that Adriano Martins literally has 4 times the amount of KO's than subs..
He may be a BJJ black belt, but nonetheless he has legit knockout power.
