I'm not arguing that he should have won the first, but if the ref didn't take a point, then the judges have to score it as if there weren't a foul. Only the ref can take a point, so that's on him.

To be fair kawijiri did nothing with the takedown. Cub did more in the first half while they were standing and the second half he got laid on. Effective striking comes before effective grappling.
