Great movie. My kids high school has this as mandatory viewing during the Holocaust remembrance. Then they have a guest speaker who was in a concentration camp speak to them after. Very moving.

Tough to pick three but from the list: Platoon, The Thin Red Line, Full Metal Jacket.

The Thin Red Line gets overshadowed but it's one of the best war movies imho.

Gladiator was basically one man vs many. Sure the opening scene was about war but that was really it. Gladiator is definitely light years better than 300 though.

I don't think that Schindler's List really qualifies as a war film. The movie takes place when a war is going on but it's more of a Holocaust movie. War movie implies people fighting each other in battle.
