2026 Motorsports Thread

My thoughts:
1. Don't care much about the whole lap 1 mess - Yes, Lewis deserved that penalty later though.
2. Amazing race overall but the ending??? Come on!!! - Robbed of 2 potentially awesome battles b/c some dumbass not even in the points spins out and starts on fire.
3. Max would likely have passed Charles
4. Oscar would likely have passed Bearman
5. I'm not saying the fix is in or anything but it's clear FIA and McLaren want Lando to win. At the same time, Oscar nobody to blame but himself the last few weeks for driving poorly.
6. WTF Mercedes doing?? I'm not even a George fan but why in the world have him sit behind Kimi for 5 extra laps, then be like "OK switch positions", that indecisiveness cost them. George even told them he'd switch back with Kimi if he couldn't make the overtake. Then his engineer telling him to watch his tires while OScar is right up his ass. I don't understand how these teams with 100s of millions of dollars can't make good decisions.
7. Again....robbed of a potential amazing ending after Max chases down Charles for 20 laps only to no even get a chance at it.

Are there any sprint car fans out there? I race mainly around the southeast, but life is getting tough and the money is starting to run dry being self-funded. I told my dad I'm probably going to call it a career in 2026. I want to knock off a few dream tracks though. Belleville High Banks in Kansas. Knoxville, Iowa. Terre Haute, IN. If any Sherdog's are in the area when I roll through and want to help out, I'll lend you a mud scrapper and torque wrench to help me out. The commentators need to wake up. We knew it was going to be a 10 second pen. Saying thankfully that was all it was. What else would it've been?

I don't know if it's just Lando coming on strong at the end of the year or Oscar just wilting under pressure. There were odds a few months back with Oscar was up and he was like a -700 favorite or something, crazy.

Max is still the best driver in the world IMO. Going from that far back, with a puncture, ending up on podium!! What I don't understand is why didn't Red Bull understand that car setup in qualifying? Had Max started in the top 4 or so he could have given Lando a good fight.

Or do you guys think the fact they switched power unit and took the penalty actually helped them for the race and the rest of the season? I don't know how much difference a new power unit actually makes to be honest.

Oh and have we even talked about 2026? 50% electric......it sounds like a complete disaster incoming. No DRS, less HP from the engine and more from battery. It's just going to be a bunch of electrical engineers racing around determining when the best time to use, harvest and store electrical power. I want to see driving skill and hear the noise, don't want a bunch of eggheads calculating battery performance while driving. There is already Formula E if you want to go green/electric. Might as well just run them all in simulators at some point. So stupid.

I knew nothing about this at all. DRS is one of the excitements of the race.

Whichever racing succumbs to this flawed trend based on a fake narrative
will never get my viewership or interest again thank you.
