Ok, I haven't been following much for ages.

Has Red Bull dropped off or has McLaren just taken off? RB upgrades no good? Has Max been really outdriving the car and Perez is just putting the car where it deserves to be?

Catch me up team

There could be a bunch of things. Other teams catching up. Fia making red bull pull tech. Lots of rumours on that. But McLaren seemed to have a flexible rear wing this past race. Who knows.

Pete what the hell you doing talking about Nascar out of the blue? Had no idea you were a fan.

Jr had a chance to win this one last year before his car randomly caught on fire.

I've watched Nascar my whole life LoL, we got a good conversation going on it every week in the rasslin sub forum

I decided to jump on the young Bell bandwagon before the season started and that turned out to be a wise decision since the #20 car is having a season for the ages!

Fuck Bubba Wallace

That's awesome, had no idea. I grew up a Ken Schrader fan. Never picked a favorite after he retired but I do like Chase Elliott and anyone that is an underdog. Buescher winning that thriller against SVG was pretty cool to see.

I liked Bubba Wallace until the noose thing happened and he continued to pretend like it was targeted at him even though it was proven that it was there the year before when Blaney had that stall. That and his shitty attitude although I do respect his self awareness that he's not nearly as good a driver as his teammate Reddick.

I didnt care about Bubba Wallace one way or the other until the noose thing which made me not care for him but whatevs, then when he acted like a smarmy ass whiny little bitch earlier this season over Austin Dillon grabbing the brass ring I started to actively hate him and root against him every moment I can

I grew up watching the old timers like Bobby Allison and Cale Yarborough with my granpa and rooted for Earnhardt, when he died I said I was a Harvick fan but I really wasnt, then when Tony Stewart came along I was All In on him til he killed that kid, kinda took me out of it after that, then at the start of this season I just randomly picked young Bell and the 20 car and his success has me wrapped up in it again

This season is turning out to be awesome! I'm a fan of Max but last year got really boring with him and Red Bull winning everything so early and so easily.

You can get Max to win the driver's champ at -195 right now, which seems like really good odds. May put down $200 to win like $100. I know he hasn't been doing great but I don't see Lando catching him.

Man. Lando proved again today that he needs these big leads. He wasn’t even under pressure and almost crashed out twice.

Leave it to Nascar to figure out how to make the night race at Bristol a snooze fest.

I've gotten into F1 the last 2 years or so and really like it a lot. I have never gotten in to NASCAR as I always thought it was for rednecks and it's boring to watch cars go in a circle. However I understand there is a lot more passing and rubbing in nascar vs f1. F1 isn't a ton of overtakes in general and the top 3-4 teams seem to just dominate every race.

For those that watch both, should i check out nascar or is it a "step down" from f1? and do you like both ? do you prefer one over the other?

I watch both, including Indycar and Moto GP because I just like racing. I find F1 to normally be the most boring of all the series because the on track excitement is normally the worst. Although I don't feel like a lot of fans are there for the on track excitement anyway. I'm not really sure what the draw to the series is because it's not competition. I will say that this year has been quite a bit better than the last few years with McLaren showing up to play.

Like anything, you have to be invested in the teams or drivers or else you're just watching a bunch of random people you don't care about compete with each other.

Great feedback! That’s why NASCAR was always boring to me or seems boring bc it’s a bunch of guys I don’t know going around in a circle.

With F1 I started to get to know some of the teams and understand it. I like Max bc my Dutch ancestors. I also like Bottas bc mullet and stash and Yuki is funny. I’ve started to really like both Mcclaren drivers too.

I’m going to try to get into nascar bc more action. F1 to me is amazing just bc of the sheer speed and technology used. Though it’s turned a lot into saving tires and positioning instead of racing. It’s like a chess game to me.

Yeah that's kind of the deal with any sport. I've always been able to get my girlfriends into sports because I start telling them random quips about the players so they wind up getting to know who they are instead of them just being a number with a name on the back.

Aero has kind of made Nascar a bit F1 like with the passing difficulty and more pit road strategy and fuel saving coming into play.

There's some exciting guys out there like Ross Chastain. Came from a watermelon farm and really worked his way up through the ranks driving for some really bad teams but showing that he had more speed in those shitty cars than anyone else that drove them. Eventually he got to cup, is in a pretty good ride and gets to do cool shit like this.

Dude was out of the playoffs when he entered turn 3 and in the playoffs when he crossed the line. That FedEx #11 car was knocked out of the playoffs when Chastain passed him there.
