Beal as option 1 or 2 is going to be productive. His contract his fine. His fit in the team isn't.

So what moves do you make if you are Phoenix?

There's nothing fine about a guy making around $50 million a year that you can't trade when you need more pieces and he is only averaging about 20 points per game. Also, he cannot be your first or second option with his history of injuries.

The idea was their bigs would be good enough to let him open space in the 2 man game. That hasn't happened. 50 million a year isnt a problem with the new CBA. He's improved his jumpshot quite a bit and is shooting less this season. His 3% is above 40% on 4.4 attempts per game.

He only missed 7 games in 2019-2020 and missed 12 in the COVID year. He didnt play in the bubble because of his contract situation. Then he played the the next season with a wrist injury and got surgery for it. You can say hes had 2 injury years really.

he can't lead a bad team, can't fit in with stars on a good team, what do you see as his "fit" or his "team", especially at $50M/year.

He's never been a leader on a good team

all of a sudden the fucking wizards are the pinnacle of competent GMing

All they did was waste Arenas, Wall, and Beals primes.

$50 million isn't a problem when you don't have a bench or a point guard? Also, he makes around the same as Jokic. Beal is good but come on.....Jokic good? He should be shooting less. He's the # 3 on that team but you said that fit in the team is not right so how would you "fix" it? Is the solution to get rid of Durant or Booker? You said the idea was the bigs would be good enough to let him do his thing in the 2 man game. My question is this cannot be your solution for the entire season since they were relying on their starters, can it?

That's nice but those numbers in a hilariously weak defensive era managed to get KD single digit win shares.

Lol at bringing up MJ though. Every single season he had with the Bulls was better from any point of view or statistic that actually measures the importance of a player. Feel free to pick one.

I was even mentioning prime MJ. Let's use the year before he retired at 34 and compare it to Kd's post Achilles 35-36 season:

29/4/6 on 46/24/78 (53% TS) (Josh Giddey level efficiency in his sophomore year when people said he may be unplayable due to inefficiency)

vs

27/5/6.5 52/41/85 (62% TS)

Anyways, not gonna get into it but just LOL at the plumber era. Dunno how MJ scored on cans like Dan Majerle when they defended so hard.

Max players make max money, I guess nobody should make the max unless they're an MVP.

You obviously dont know how the NBA salary cap works

The suns are a mess. Way over the cap and have zero draft capital. They can't even trade Beal if they wanted to since he didn't waive his no trade clause. lol

OK, so I've asked before and I'll ask now. What is the move for Phoenix since you know how the cap works? The Suns only have 3 assets to trade Booker, KD and Nurkic. They gave up all their first round pics and their second round pics. Phoenix has nothing to bargain with so even if Beal is in the wrong position with the team (which is hilarious imo) how can the Suns get him help without losing KD and the franchise star?

Youre arguing how much Beal and Joker get paid, Joker is irrelevant.

Booker is the franchise star. KD probably won't be around much longer. Probably gonna trade him back to OKC for a bunch of picks and OKC wins 3 rings a row.

My guy,

GOAT

PER: 25.2 (an actual useful measure of overall efficiency)
WS: 15.8
BPM: 6.9
DBPM: 1.0
DRTG: 99.8
VORP: 6.0
Championship

CAN

PER: 21.2
WS: 8.3
BPM: 4.0
DBPM: 0.1 (LOL)
DRTG: 114.4 (LOL)
VORP: 4.3
First Round Sweep

When you really think about it, KD had single digit win shares on a 49 win team, got swept like a child in the first round, and was basically a pylon on defense in the weakest era in history.

His legacy is needing Steph Curry to win a title.

I know it stings the day after but you're going to get through it.
