I swear everytime I come in here to read the comments it’s just this kid @Croaker getting slapped around lmao.

He does seem to not mind though so fair play to him, he’s probably a little submissive
This poor gay boy keeps posting on my profile begging me for attention, just like the lot of geriatrics ITT lmao

Haliburton, Zion, Banchero, Ja, HolmGOAT, Cade Cunningham etc

plenty of great young NBA players

Hilarious putting Jokic and Embiitch in a discussion of good young players
Those young guys u listed, they're quality, but they can't hold a candle to previous generations of American players.

Hope I'm wrong, but feels a bit like the Mavs gonna go 0-2 against the kings, fml..
They have been playing much better lately tbh. But I’m still skeptical because they have had literally the easiest strength of schedule since their bad streak. Just need to try to avoid the play-in.

Maybe, they are away games but the Mavs are playing their best basketball right now, 8-1 in their last 9 games and over a broader sample, 16-6 over their last 22. I think there is a good chance its a split 1-1.

I'm skeptical because the Mavs find ways to F shit up, however, over their last 22 games the Mavs have wins over Nuggets, Warriors, Heat, Suns, Thunder, Knicks, and 76'ers.

Kings haven’t looked that great recently either so the Mavs can beat them

I’ll take the W’s for sure but diving in more, the warriors didn’t have Steph and Draymond, knicks without their 3 best players, 76ers are not good anymore, heat are meh, suns not at full strength without Beal.

Great wins against the Thunder and Nuggets though. In the end, it’s still W’s so I’ll take it. I’m just not sold until we see them in the playoffs.

They're all under 25 years old or younger ffs, give em time. Comparing young players to previous generations is fucking dumb. That was my whole point.

LMAO, you and me both. I want them to go on some sort of run but I've experienced many let down seasons over the years from this CANchise. Gaff has been an incredible pickup, and I'm sticking with that story. Tonight Gaff had 13/11/5 with 5 blocks. That is a game changer for Luka and Kyrie, especially knowing DLive is also playing good minutes. They said during the broadcast the Mavs are 9-1 when Gaff starts.

I think the Mavs are undefeated when Gafford starts with Luka, so maybe that’s something that needs to stick around. They are coming around at the right time of the season so even if they lose in the first round, it won’t be an easy out. Depending on the matchup, I can see them getting to the 2nd

Its a tough year in the West, imagine being the #1 or #2 seed and having to deal with some of the teams in the first round that are at 6-10 right now. Lakers/Warriors hanging around in play in slots alone should be good for some laughs because one of those teams will be a spoiler for someone. Kings, Suns, Mavs, Pelicans at 5-8, one or more of those teams could be a spoiler for a top seed. Its going to be interesting this season.

So, the wifey has forced some bachelor shit on me and the geek in me escaped with the laptop to look up the MVP PER and WS/48 stats.

The past 10 years the player with the highest WS/48 has won MVP 8 times.
Only exceptions:
2016 Westbrook (Kawhi higher on the second seed Spurs)
2022 Embiid (Jokic higher on the first seed nuggets).

The player with the highest PER has also won MVP 8 times.
Only exceptions:
2014 Curry (AD higher PER on 8th seed Pelicans)
2022 Embiid (Jokic higher on 1st seed Nuggets)

Jokic was the only player in the past 10 years to lead in both WS/48 and PER and not win MVP.

Guys that lead in all of WS, WS/48, and PER in the same year and number of first place votes were:

2013 to 2014 Durant - 119/125 first place votes
2015 to 2016 Curry - 131/131 first place votes
2017 to 2018 Harden - 86/101 first place votes
2020 to 2021 Jokic - 91/101 first place votes
2021 to 2022 Jokic - 65/100 first place votes
2022 to 2023 Jokic - 15/100 first place votes

Jokic is leading in all three metrics this year, good reason to believe the voting will revert back to historical norms and should win MVP by a lot.

Fake fuckin account, I saw that earlier and it tricked me for a minute then I became incredulous Cormier.

That's how you know it's real. What probably happened was that Draymond spit in his mouth and Kerr thanked him. It was just misconstrued as a fight.

Hot damn, Phoenix at risk of being on the road for play in gams. Possible they fall into the 9 spot, and Houston overtakes GS to get the 10 spot. Phoenix doesn't have an easy game the rest of the year. Lakers have at least 5.

So I'm trying to figure out this morning how the Suns, knowing every win matters right now, drop to the Spurs in such an important game. It must be that KD or Booker was out or something, nope, box score says KD/Booker combined for 65/14/10, then it must be Wemby went the F off, umm, nope, Wemby didn't play.

In fact, the season results for these two teams is 3-1 Spurs.
