Do they though? If you watch the NBA that "hot take shit" is aggressively shoved into your face. Inside the NBA, First Take, Undisputed, NBA twitter do you think it's reasonable to expect most people to ignore all of that or consume it and come to a radically different conclusion than all those shows are telling you to come to? Its called ring "culture" because its a culture. There really isn't a viable alternative. The independent creators on YT etc largely subscribe to ring culture that the MS basketball media does.

If you look at the football media they do a much better job teaching about the actual game. And they STILL have ring culture its just not as strong or dominant because with 22 starters its more obvious the individual has no control over the outcome. But QBs still get treated like NBA guys.

I agree that those talking heads have ruined sports for most fans. But it isn’t really hard to ignore what they say. Sports is much more enjoyable once you stop listening to their click bait material. Novices or fair weather fans will continue to listen to those cans though.

Its not just the talking heads most of the basketball community has internalized their view of the sport. Not that independent creators are exactly the same but they generally suscribe to ring culture. Like that fat asian guy and his friend are just as toxic as Stephen A and Skip were back in the day.

Clippers Warriors was a nice game, Warriors and even Klay actually played really well, but Clippers just had too many ballers. Kawhai is looking real nice at the moment. - and these are mid level teams in the west atm.
