Elections 2022 Mid-term Elections PBP

Select your 2022 midterm predictions

  • Total voters
    102
  • Poll closed .
House is going to be a bloodbath. Senate is so close it could be big for the Rs, or just about deadlocked (I wouldn't bet on it).

House goes R, Senate stays D.
Also, Walker/Warnock goes to a runoff.

The six member of Congress will be D, D, D, D, D, R.

And if the legistlative branch goes in either direction, it will be the same ole same ole.

Republicans take house by KO
Dems keep senate by split decision
I think republicans take both. Still will hear was robbed too. Itll be annoying. Americans still go with the well its good when the two parties have power. Things will get done.

I think GOP probably takes both sadly, but by very slim margins. The usual thing we see in midterms in which the opposing party wallops the incumbent party will be less than normal due to some of the GOP’s recent actions.

If Dems keep either house, the GOP should view this as a wake up call.
But they won’t. :)

Somehow I forgot later in the day it’s Monday and thought Election Day was today. Not sure how I did that but made this evening anti-climatic. At least I didn’t forget to vote yet.

I would hope that the Republican insistence on playing to it's base costs them.

But I expect them to win both.

Realistically, I'm not sure what the GOP has done to win undecided voters.

They've spent the past year just hammering ridiculously right wing policies and ideals.

Still, I think Republicans will take the house and senate - if not, they've failed badly.

Most people don’t have a dog in the culture war fight that permeates spaces like this. They see the tangible and real world effects of a bad economy in their daily life and then blame the party currently in power regardless of if they are at fault for causing it or not.

Agreed.

It's pretty common to have a bad result in the midterms.

In fact, it's almost universal to have a low approval rating the world over halfway through.

maybe I misread your post, but I disagree. It showed with Youngkin’s win in VA over specifically cultural issues with the school issue. It is showing with Desantis seemingly to already having a crushing win, him being a main voice in the issue.

I think that is apart of a populist groundswell that isn’t well represented in the polls

What do you mean?

Trump is already scared of Ron DeSantis, hence the stupid new nickname.

Can't see him being the candidate, TBH.

He's soiled goods.
I can't see it either but then again, I thought he had no chance to begin with. I will never underestimate the stupidity of the GOP or some of it's supporters ever again. I can't see how someone battling so many legal issues could even be eligible to run for office.

By the way, they anticipate trump might announce his re-election bid tonight

<_<

My instinct is to believe that the GOP could orchestrate a VERY strong "anyone but Trump" sentiment, which would actually gain the GOP votes - his opponent is going to smell of roses by comparison - but it would have to be without Trump's collusion, as the man is so deluded he'll decimate the Republican party's following just to win a simple contest.
