Yeah, location most definitely checks out lol. I've had to explain to people many times in my life that Oregon is extremely rural over almost the whole state. It's also pretty sparsely populated over most of the state, hence why things are the way they are. Shit man, geographically most of Western Oregon is still gonna be heavily Trump. Our population is just so concentrated, though.

i believe the arizona governor and senate races just moved an inch in this hundred mile long traffic jam and we've got enough of the vote in to round it up from 70% to 71% of the votes counted

nothing really to see. theyre just turtling along here, taking their sweet ass time knitting socks and playing solitaire.

with any luck theyll hit 72% before weeks end.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there. Trump likes money, but money is nothing to him in the face of power and fame.

In his mind, the Presidency is many things, and one of those things is a safety net. He believes that as long as he's President, he's immune to prosecution. He believes that him becoming President will get him out of any and all legal binds he's currently facing. It's a get out of jail free card for him and all his allies.

The Presidency to him is also the pinnacle of fame. Donald Trump craves attention almost above anything else. When he's President not only does he have the ears and eyes of the entire world, but he has tens of millions of fanatics who treat him like a god. This is completely irresistible to him.

But more important than any of the above is this:

His battered ego.

He lost in 2020, and he will never, ever feel clean again until that wrong is righted. That's why there is nothing the GOP can give him that will buy him off.

How is trump going to run as independent? All the big money will back the GOP candidate and he’s not going to use his own money. Who will finance his campaign?

oh yeah. it was donald trump who created that vaccine and he was encouraging everybody else to take it after taking it himself, just because he wanted all the credit for it.

that could be an interesting angle for their feud. forgot all about that one.

i think ron should just ignore trumps insults and shenanigans .. sure trumps gonna be as noisy and insultive as possible just to rile up his base, but if ron tunes that out and remains humble and just beats him in the primaries, he might not enrage the maga crowd that much as he would if they were at each others throats for years, and they could still very well support him in the 2024 election. if trump loses the primaries and most of the maga supporters ends up hating desantis over all the shit that gets flung at the wall, that might be enough just to get them not to show up and give ron their votes in the general election.

i think thats what the republicans need to do here if they want to get rid of trump but keep most of his voters. ignore the troll and he will go away. if they want to be at each others throats the whole time, this could very well go south for them. their best bet is to find a more likeable guy than trump and have him take the high ground and be above that kind of childish insult games and constant feuding. otherwise the democrats will just end up running away with it in 2024 and it really wouldnt matter who they were running just like in 2020.

He put $250 million of campaign donations into his leadership PAC which he can spend however. Doubt he uses it to finance a campaign.
