The true people's president.

''In the 1960s, he lived on a kibbutz in Israel for a few months and moved to Vermont, where he first lived in a maple sugar shack and cooked food over a coffee can filled with a roll of toilet paper soaked in lighter fluid—a poor man’s Sterno that his friends called ''Berno''.”

friggin Pakman. Trump rightly believes he will find it easier to run against Bernie than biden.
Why? Bernie will have a far easier time pointing out how President Trump family has benefited "Hugely" by his Presidency and by connections. He could even point to a recent video of the Saudi Royal family speaking glowingly about President Trump seriously. They love how things are apparently going down in Iran that benefits them greatly. He can also point out things like safety of people traveling overseas as there is growing concern of ISIS resurgence since US actions in Iraq has raised security alarms. I could go on an on about things that the economy has not trickled down as was promised and Carrier Air still moved to Mexico and Harley Davidson still planning on moving a good size chunk of manufacturing to Asian countries. Hardly holding promises he made and auto manufacturers have moved operations to Mexico.

EDIT: I wanted to add this photo in the background a steel mill that sits silent another area Trump dropped the ball.

It appears that the 'Bernie doesn't believe a woman can be president" attack came directly from Elizabeth Warren herself. The media reports are that Warren and Sanders were the only two people in the room. If Warren wanted to shut this down, she could do so immediately. Instead, she's silent.

By "they," I don't think it's necessary to pull in the other Democratic candidates. I don't think any of the candidates have egregiously attacked Sanders or his base.

ouch. Goes to show what a disingenuous person warren was from the start. She knows any more support she will get in Iowa and New Hampshire MUST come from Bernie voters. As they both attract likeminded voters.

so she tries to make Bernie seem “unelectable” with scandal. Low blow move. Gotta love politics.

If this came from Warren am I allowed to say she is a shit candidate compared to Bernie yet or am I still going to be censored by my own people for rightly drawing a comparison between the two?

Warren is BY FAR the best second choice to Bernie but none of the candidats on either side of the isle have the moral and spiritual authority that Bernie Sanders does.

He will be and is a true force for good in the world. He could bring integrity back to the office of presidency and to the country and he could do it without even making it a big deal. He just simply carries himself that way.

LIke his policies or hate them but one thing he is is honest and integrouse to the bone.

As a christian I cant think of another candidate that even remotely comes close the principles I need to look for in a candidate and he is a secular Jew. HIs preference for the poor and weak over the strong and powerful has deep resonance within the christian tradition.

If one who lives in a Christian culture goes up to God’s house, the house of the true God, with a true conception of God, with knowledge of God and prays—but prays in a false spirit; and one who lives in a idolatrous land prays with the total passion of the infinite, although his eyes rest on the image of an idol; where is there most truth? The one prays in truth to God, although he worships an idol. The other prays in untruth to the true God and therefore really worships an idol

Said from the start that Warren’s incompetence with oppression politics is her Achilles heel...she is obsessed with painting herself as the victim of invidious discrimination, as though it’s the core validation of her being to be oppressed because of her membership in a protected class.

I could be wrong, but I think Warren might have backed herself into a corner on this one.

The debate is tomorrow night. The moderators will almost certainly ask Warren if Sanders did or did not say "a woman cannot beat Trump". Is she really going to say "yes"? I feel like very few people will believe her. If she says "no", then that makes her staff look bad.

I guess her best option is to say "I don't recall the details of the conversation, but some of my staff seem to remember it that way. I consider Bernie a strong ally."

Look I'm a sorta Bernie supporter but Religion is not one of his strongest suits but he does care about the poor especially people in distress but his growing pro choice stance hurts him with Christians. I believe that will continue to be a huge problem with moderate Christians who believe in helping the poor. Trump and his supporters will continue to go after Democrats and their pro-choice position and will appoint radical judges to the Supreme court even though that is nonsense it registers with moderate Christians.

Breaking. Here it is. Warren announces she was behind this. Showing Kamala Harris-level character.

I don't think you can craft a strategy to increase voter turnout very much. That's a much larger function than any campaign or even party committee can perform. That has more to do with politics as a whole and what's happening in the country, and it's hard to even analyze. Obama was a perfect turnout candidate, coming on the heels of an unpopular Republican and brought tons of disenfranchised black votes to the table. But even that was probably just a novelty, as turnout dipped again in 2012.

How do you get voters to turn out and support your candidate? Even 2016 didn't have high turnout, and that was circus level stuff.

On the other hand, 30% of the country are "Independents" and a lot of them live in swing states, and we know what their concerns are. Sanders brings some enthusiasm from the non-voting youth, which is good, but he also walks a tightrope in the states that decide the election, between capitalism and socialism. And his opening-the-factories rhetoric there has always seemed unrealistic, in addition to the single-payer talk, which isn't actually as popular as some people think (strongest support is for the option), and how the question is answered in surveys depends a lot on the framing of the question. Needless to say, the people we have to appeal to in order to win are not fans of being kicked off their insurance - one of the last remaining solid benefits out there - against their wishes.
Nobody is going to replicate Obama's turnout, that's impossible to ignore. We've gone over my thoughts on enthusiasm versus safety already, and I definitely have doubts about my position. Luckily for me I can vote for Bernie in good conscience because I'm an integrity voter above all else (for potus anyway), but still, it is most important to eject Bonespurs...

Maybe our good friend @Aldo4Ever is right, Pete's the uber-candidate. Despite his abysmal polling with black voters, he could easily bring that enthusiasm, considering he's not a million years old and he's got some charisma.

My intuition says important demo's, especially blacks, will turnout and make the primary winner pretty much a moot point just because of Trump. His bullshit is motivation enough. We shall see.

btw props for using "irretrievably stupid" lol
Thanks, lol. Can't take credit, I borrowed it from A Fish Called Wanda (GOAT comedy).

She went all in.

"Among the topics that came up was what would happen if Democrats nominated a female candidate," Warren said in the Monday evening statement. "I thought a woman could win; he disagreed. I have no interest in discussing this private meeting any further because Bernie and I have far more in common than our differences on punditry."

This has Obama written all over it with Warren very carefully planned ahead of the Iowa caucuses the the person who plant it likely works with the Obama team. Funny how this stuff turns up right after Obama's 100 plus person team moved over to help Warren. Be ready there will be more of this going forward.

I’m no Bernie fan. However, it’s hard to not believe he has the most integrity in the entire field. The man NEVER changes his view on anything. This reeks of desperation and looks completely out of character.

Warren is a snake and this will backfire.
