I’m worried about that goal. It’s one thing to create change through ideas and convince the country you’re on the right side. It’s another to attack a coalition you’ll need and effectively see a scenario like Obama faced under Republican congressional control. If he wants to axe Klobachar, Bennet, Jones, Manchin, etc. he guarantees Republican control. Good luck getting a progressive to win in red or dark purple states.
I don’t think it’s possible to turn rural states into progressive ones in 4 years. I’d love to be wrong though.
Well I obviously do not know the exact details of his plans but he has said these things for sure. I have heard people say that the mistake Obama made (assuming he ever wanted to pass progressive policies) is that he did not really use his grassroots movement to pressure and enact real change.
Bernie plans to use the presidency in this way to a degree previously unheard of.
