Elections 2020 Candidate Matching (ISideWith)

Interesting thing that this thread reflects--even the most shameless Trump/GOP apologists here don't actually agree with their own party on policy that much. Illustrates the point that the GOP runs on identity politics and Democrats run on policy.

Politics is nuanced and Trump supporters aren't NPC retards.
"Democrats run on policy" LOOOOOOOL

I think you and I might be two of the most closely ideologically aligned posters here. I'm guessing you went harder-line on immigration in the quiz than I did, which gave you a higher Constitution Party score and me a higher Libertarian score. I voted for the Constitution Party's nominee for prez in 2016.
I think immigration bumped me to Constitution Party status, as well. I don’t know much about the Constitution Party, but I’m digging their website’s political cartoons.

I took my own survey this morning. Results are as follows:

1. Bernie
2. Bernie
3. Bernie
4. Bernie
5. Bernie

The survey was only one question, "Who is the hottest Presidential candidate of all time?".

Or that maybe, just maybe, this quiz isn't the holy grail on policy alignment and has some flaws?

Or that dem voters are mindless and follow whatever their party tells them too and Rs have independent thought that can deviate from their perfect party alliance?

Polls suggest the same thing. Republican voters largely don't agree with the people they vote for about policy but they don't like pressing one for English, seeing brown people in their neighborhood, they hate Hollywood, etc.

Too obvious again.

Poll had some problems though. One question in particular I recall about banning Muslims as opposed to wording it about banning travel from some Muslim countries with inadequate vetting processes. I’m against travel ban on all Muslims, im for banning travel from those Muslim countries that don’t have heir shit together enough to properly vet their people.

My vote on that would’ve been different if they would’ve worded it properly.

His tribalism tends to get the better of him in threads like this.

Compared the other choices I'm aware of, they are pretty good. I voted for Darrell Castle (their nominee for prez) in 2016. I do have reservations about them. Abortion is mentioned nowhere in the Constitution, yet their platform takes a firm stance on it. Castle seems like a nice guy but I think his life experience is a little too limited. For example, I listened to an interview with him in which he expressed that he wasn't sure if human teleportation technology has been invented yet. The party also makes prevention of illegal immigration a big part of their platform. I believe that the original meaning of "invasion" (from both Article I, Section 8 and Article 4, Section 4) related to foreign armies, not economic migrants, so I don't think their position on that issue is constitutional.

About half of my answers were "fill in your own".

I knew you're a covert leftie.
I hold opinions that more closely align with the left on some issues, but on others my opinions align with the right. I don't think a binary left/right classification accurately reflects my own position.

Keep telling yourself that, and keep losing easy elections to the Rs as you double down on thinking everyone who doesn't agree with you is a racist idiot

I'm not running for anything, but as a citizen who values being informed, I'll continue to monitor the evidence and form positions on the basis of that evidence. I expect that people like you will continue to be mad about it, and the world will continue to turn.
