Elections 2020 Candidate Matching (ISideWith)

Anyone who's 95% anything specific, is a simpleton. You can't be a functioning adult and hold just one set of values- both sides have some good and bad stances, so you have to pick and choose and then pick your poison in the general elections.

I think I've got a healthy mix of Nationalism and Socialism.

73% libertarian
49% republican
42% dems
-----------------------------
Yet somehow
72% Tulsi
67% Sanders
64% Yang
42% Trump

How is that even possible and why is Bernie an independent?

Something is off about this tool.

Constitution 59%
Republican 54%
Democratic 44%
Green (LOL) 42%
Libertarian 42%
Socialist (LOL) 41%
Women's 26%
Peace and Freedom 6%

Ballot:

Kasich 64%
Donnie (Fuck yea!) 63%
Delaney (who tf is this guy) 57%
Tulsie (bae AF) 51%
Kamala Smollett (eww) 51%

Right-wing environmentalist <28>

Tulsi 92%
Bernie 91%
Cop 90%
Pocahontas 89%
Beta 88%
Peter Butt aka Dick Butt 88%
Carlos Danger aka Anthony Weiner 85%
Yang Gang 84%
Black Spartacus 77%
Creepy Joe 65%
Orange Man 29%

Green 87%
Socialist 85%
Democratic 84%
Libertarian 35%
Peace and Freedom 35%
GOP 16%
Constitution 13%

The fact that I match 90% to Kamala the Cop tells me the survey needs some serious work. Zero chance I identify with someone who would literally throw people away in prison for decades on technicalities.

We're inching closer to 2020, with an historically crowded Democratic field, and ISideWith has a really ludicrously comprehensive system of matching up persons to candidates and parties. It will take you at least a good 10 minutes (more like 30 if you want to get the most accurate result and answer all of the questions, which I highly recommend), but I think it's a really well-done program.

And, of course, if you have questions or want to discuss certain questions from the test to help

@HockeyBjj @xcvbn @Fawlty

My results were as follows.

Candidates:
95% - Bernie Sanders
93% - Elizabeth Warren
92% - Tulsi Gabbard
92% - Beto O'Rourke
92% - Kamala Harris
91% - Julian Castro
91% - Pete Buttigieg
89% - Cory Booker
89% - Kirsten Gillibrand
89% - Andrew Yang
86% - Amy Klobuchar
72% - Joe Biden
25% - Donald Trump

Parties:
Socialist - 92%
Green - 88%
Democratic - 86%
Libertarian - 44%
Republican - 11%

As you can expect, it's a little less exact for figures whose legislative/policy history is less detailed: for instance, if positions were more exact, I would likely have less in common with Beto O'Rourke and more in common with Andrew Yang. But it's still about as comprehensive and accurate a match system as can be feasibly expected

So according to your view the US should be destroyed. Nice.

John Kasich 82%
John Delaney 70%
Tulsi Gabbard 51%
Donald Trump 50%
Joe Biden 47%

Beto did the best (97%), followed by Gabbard/Booker/Harris (96%). Trump was at 32%. For parties, Democrats got 90%. The "Constitution Party" was at 3%.

It's not really a good way to pick candidates, though, and it's not how people do it in the real world (note, for example, that people who support Bernie for the nomination are more likely to have Biden as their second choice than anyone else, by far, and vice versa for Biden supporters). I'd rather have someone I agree with 91% of the time (like Warren) who I'm confident will be able to move the ball forward than someone I agree with 100% of the time who I don't have any confidence in.

@Trotsky , did you tag me for a specific reason for conversation here? Or just more intrigued to my results of this quiz than you would be an average sherdogger and wanted to make sure I didn't miss this thread on a Saturday while I get my fishing stuff switched over from ice to open water?

I clicked on all the "answer more" as the three to each section I felt would pigeon hole too much. In interest of time, I normally chose one of the two options and rarely went into more detail except for a few things like on wall support finding the no because it's too expensive, so that the system doesn't see my no there as open for illegal immigration.

77% libertarian
69% constitution
61% republican
56% socialist
50% Green
44% democratic
13% peace and freedom

I find it interesting that I'm not above 80% on anything, as well as above 50% on socialism.

I would contribute the socialism bump to my overall support of decreasing defense spending and using that to increase public funding for things like education, public transportation, health care- Just not giving government control over those areas

I don't agree with the libertarian at the top. Libby ideals can be good sounding on paper so I'm guessing that's why they show up from this quiz more, but then they go batshit crazy like 0 regulations on corporations or monopolies and that whole mess goes out the window there. I also think I inadvertently checked their boxes with my foreign answers let the world do what they do, US needs to stop getting involved at all.

Balot wise it's got me:
76% D John Delaney
74% R Donald Trump
66% D Tulsi Gabbard
62% D Andrew Yang
55% R John Kasich
55% D Pete Buttieg
And then what appears to be the entirety of the Democrat primary field at 43-50% with Biden limping in at 38%

No freaking clue how Yang ended up above the dem pack when the only two buttons where I selected a "more important" rather than leaving at somewhat so as to not spend an hour on the quiz was No universal income (which should have tkoed him)and no to restricting guns.

Not the biggest fan of the quiz, maybe it'll improve when they get around to updating their questions, many seemed outdated from 2015/16.

Imply whatever you will there

Interesting thing that this thread reflects--even the most shameless Trump/GOP apologists here don't actually agree with their own party on policy that much. Illustrates the point that the GOP runs on identity politics and Democrats run on policy.

This was a clever troll but you ruined it with the last sentence being too obvious.

Interesting how you define shameless. While the more right leaning posters are more diverse with their political beliefs, you guys are literally one-trick pony fundamentalists LOL.

This is why we cannot allow these mental midgets into power. The true fascists are the robots, the TDS zombies, the ones who don't have a bi-partisan bone in their body.
