It was a wonderful social experiment. But I learned really quick to not play the "we are the world" card on Sherdog.

Hmm. Compare a bunch of unlike people and have them disavow the comparison. Might be that you learned the wrong lesson there.

I will say that there are a lot of legit idiots here (on both sides--many sides), and partisan freaks, though the charge is probably made a lot more than is warranted. It's like in the HWs, when everyone who rates a fighter a little bit higher than you is a "nuthugger" and anyone who rates a fighter a little lower than you is a "hater."

It had nothing to do with how "alike" you were as far as your politics, but mostly how alike you were as far as playing partisan politics. You guys ARE political hacks, whether your intellectualism wants to admit it or not. We're on an MMA forum arguing politics.

I know for a fact that you're a very smart guy, but you're a partisan smart guy. You stick to your values and damn the rest.

I just think the emotion you show when she's around is incredible and totally out of character.

Well, if we're being serious, I'm happily married. But even when I was single, I would have preferred a respectable 7 to a 9 I didn't respect as a person.

Um, right. You cannot seriously read TCK and me and think that we're on the same level in any way. It's not just disagreement about issues. The dude changes his values whenever his party does, and makes absurd arguments to justify it. You will literally find zero examples of me flip-flopping on anything because it's become politically inconvenient.

The thing is, you are politically very smart. I have an inkling of politics, but history, psychology and the human brain are more my fields. So whenever I go on here and fuck around, I'm really just trying to gauge the audience. And to have *both* sides tell me "I'm nothing like that guy, boo you!" Told me that no matter what, even with a mediator, there is no fixing it. Atleast for that split second, you guys were in unison in your hatred for me, just for suggesting that you guys may be partisan.

Um, yeah, if you insult people, they tend not to like it. Your thing didn't show anything more than that fact. But you'll never find a single example of me flip flopping out of partisan convenience or bullshitting for partisan reasons, etc. It's an objectively false charge. I could levy it at you, and you'd deny it, and that denial wouldn't prove it's correct.

I wasn't putting you and TCK on the same intellectual level, but you both stick to your guns pretty hard. I can't count how many times him and I have argued evolution, gay marriage, etc. over the last 5-6 years. It's not like he's changed any.

You're partisan because you will vote (D) everytime, and you will like any liberal post on here, but never a conservative one. I may, or someone else may, make a rational pragmatic post, not to disenfranchise another party, just to make an observation, but unless it's homer/rash/quip, the orgy of likes will continue. That's another funny thing I like noticing on the forum since the like system. And it's the same on the other side, ofcourse.

You use tribalism alot. But that's really what it truly is. And it's fascinating.

I never accused you of flip flopping. I specifically said you stick to your guns. I've never flip flopped on a single issue. It's the issues that keep changing.

Ed: I went ahead and checked. Three of the last 20 (15%) were to conservative posters. That's skewed because of this thread, though.

Then is the problem that you don't know what "partisan" means? I don't deny having a philosophy and moral values. I deny that any kind of political allegiance comes before them, as it does for people like TCK, the right-wing hivemind, Inga, ODB, etc.
