I am also getting a stove in 2 weeks and so I have found a farmer with a bunch of wood to sell to me.

So i go there and saw the logs then split them (ok they are split in1/2 but I resplit them in 1/4 just for the fuck of it). All manual, no chainsaw. Just saw and axe.

I do it for fun (also because it is eco and eventually will lower the gas bill) but it's amazing how much energy has to go into producing energy, when you don't use modern technology.

And even then I am not even felling trees.

Anyways yeah it's awesome.

Then I come home, my girlfriend cooks me a steak that I eat with a nice Bordeaux wine, and all is well in the world.

I think I am gonna chop some wood when I go to Lac Carre tomorrow.

Hear hear! That's the attitude we need around here. Aside from a few topics (sexual predators, real racism, fork vs spoon) there's no need to shit all over someone just because of surface disagreements. No, liberals (not leftists) aren't mentally disabled, and conservatives (not white supremacists) aren't evil deplorables.

And that's why I'm endorsing @JDragon for president of the War Room. His balanced views and willingness to engage in open and elevated discourse makes him ze German we need to lead this place! A true WR patriot indeed. Besides, we share a love of dawgs, and I think I'm genetically predisposed to supporting Germans. Wonderful, caring, humorous and warm people that they are.
