Plenty of good movies out there but maybe they aren't as good as years past

I realize that I'm in red country, but there are still all sorts of Democrats around here. Yes, even Dixiecrats and people who were union members for a good portion of their lives but vote Democrat, even though they are more conservative than hardcore Republicans.

I've yet to find one person who is absolutely thrilled about voting for Hillary. The one person I thought would be a diehard Hillary supporter, a progressive professor at my former university (and someone who smoked weed with fellow grad students), hates her and supported Bernie fully. No one is making pro-Hillary posts on my Facebook feed, even though the proportion of Democratic friends I have is greater there than in real life.

It's hard to tell where the bubble world is at, to be honest. I have to look at things objectively since I'm in red country, but even here, I haven't seen one single Hillary sign out in yards - and it's not like Hillary supporters would be attacked, I'm in a very low crime area. I see no one making pro-Hillary posts on social media accounts. Either I'm in a bubble world or the media is. Looking at the media objectively, you have the new version of JournoList making the rounds and pushing certain narratives, and that's even worse than Fox News hammering certain points all day long, since this collusion crosses supposed "competing" media outlets, not just one single news outlet. Plus Reuters just rejiggered their polling method once it kept showing Trump was pulling ahead and now under their "new" polling method, Hillary is magically in the lead. They even retroactively changed their previous poll that showed Trump winning with their "new" methodology and lo and behold, that poll suddenly changed by around six percentage points to show Hillary now in the lead. Even CNN is fucking around with their polls, not even reporting entire demographics of voters. There's no way this stuff would be happening if Hillary was in the lead. It didn't happen when Hillary was leading comfortably in the polls.

I will keep an open mind but right now, this looks like the media trying to push a narrative.

The narrative and the truth is that Trump is completely unelectable and unfit to serve for any public office. People are beginning to see this and will be discouraged more by the day as this is demonstrated by Trump himself. How more people have not seen this up to now, how this is only being understood now, I'm not sure.

Obama is a cool G, not certifiably crazy, and not super bound to wall street, he would win re-election at LOL levels. I think Biden would have dominated this as well, but his son died

I stopped at N, keep looking at the rest of the movies that are listed, if you want a real idea of how many great movies used to come out in a year.

If I see 1 movie a year at the quality of A League of their Own, or The Hunt for the Red October, I am pleasantly surprised.

I'm way done with Obama but I know what you mean. He's still popular and at this stage, it's rare for a two-term President to be more popular than he isn't.

But yeah, it's hard to tell what's going on, so I'm trying to piece things together. It seems like there's a lot going on behind the scenes we aren't privy to. I think that's what you mean. I feel it, too. I think it's the media collaborating on a scale that hasn't happened in a very, very long time. You had JournoList, borderline collusion between leftist media personalities, and you had the recent DNC leaks by Wikileaks that showed at least one media outlet actually ran an article past the DNC before publishing it, making sure it wouldn't upset the party. That is absolutely asinine. It's entirely possible that this is happening with Fox News but you'd never hear the end of it if Fox was caught as red-handed as this.

It sucks. The leftist media has become so damn political, unified against Trump. Back when Bush was in power and actually for a few years after Obama became President, the leftist media, especially online, was by far the best source for news. Now it's even worse than Fox News was during W's administration.

All of this makes me think that the media is so out of touch with the American public that they're the ones in the bubble world. After all, media outlets that were respectable ten years ago are nothing but clickbait-driven SJW outlets today, not competing with each other based on content but instead on how many over-the-top SJW identity politics articles that generate clicks (that trend will die at some point, people will adjust). It's the same media that were completely wrong in their predictions about Brexit and just as wrong about Trump even winning the primaries.

Compared to a woman who privatized her influence in a very high position of power within the government to act on behalf of foreign actors and governments?

I get it. Trump says and does stupid stuff. The entire debacle with Khan shows how flawed he is. But nothing he has said can ever match the sheer quantity of what Hillary has actually done. What she did should be considered treason, if the pattern of behavior (donating to the Clinton Foundation for a favorable government outcome) can be determined. And that's just the Clinton Foundation. Granted, it's on a whole different scale than the email scandal, but even the email scandal was on a whole different level than Trump being a thin-skinned meanie.
