How satisfied are you voting for your candidate?

I'm interested in how many Hillary voters are voting against Trump or disappointed they can't vote for Bernie.

I'm an Obama voter disappointed I can't vote for Obama. :(

But it's hard to answer the question. I see Clinton as a pretty normal Democratic presidential nominee. Sanders would have been a little worse than normal, Obama was a lot better than normal, etc. I think Kaine would have been a little better than normal. So I wouldn't say disappointed, but not really jazzed either. So "satisfied" in the sense that I'm not really disappointed, disappointed in the sense that I'm not excited.

The needs have really changed now that the economy is running at near capacity, the foreign-policy situation has settled a bit, we had major healthcare reform, deficits are down, we've made a lot of progress on the environment (and there is momentum for even more), and we've had much-needed financial reform. I think we still need to do something about our ridiculously stingy safety net and infrastructure improvements are still needed (and should be done at a time when the employment/wages situation can still benefit from a little higher gov't spending), but a little more fiscal conservatism might be appropriate. Clinton is offering pay-fors for her proposals, which is good; not much on the safety net; and I think she'll be good on the environment. So overall, OK.

Would you rather have Clinton or Biden?

Would you rather have Clinton or Biden?

I'm probably in a minority (not in the WR, though) who would prefer Biden.

BTW, to add to my other point, here's long-term debt as projected by the CBPP:

The ACA has pulled us out of crisis mode for long-term debt growth, but I'd like to see it come down a little more.

This doesn't seem to make any sense at all.

It doesn't. But is accurate if one remembers what Brexit symbolizes:
  • Voting with your feelings instead of your head.
  • Voting for an alternative that doesn't really expect to win and has no fucking idea what to do if they did.
  • Being fueled by bigotry, ignorance and plain stupidity.
  • Voting for an alternative you know is bad as a "protest vote" because you thik it's not going to win anyways
Etc, etc. There's lots of things Brexit has in common with Trump.

ETA: This is far more eloquent:

Actually the arrogant cocky media were the ones saying that BREXIT had no chance and said they would win by 4% right as the polls closed. It was arrogant Remain supporters who failed to vote assume they had it in the bag that led to them losing by 4%.

The rule is you have to win in order to rewrite history.

It is perfectly clear that the politicians pushing for Brexit had no plan whatsoever in place in the event they won. They've been winging it and passing the ball ever since the referendum.

The rule is you have to win in order to rewrite history.

Tell that to the US South and the bullshit "Lost Cause" / "The-War-Wasn't-About-Slavery" bullshit myth they were able to make stick for the better part of a century.

interesting article on how trumps son in law(marrie to ivanka)has recently been looking into running a media company and how the hiring of the top breitbart guy is more than about hillary. its about attacking gop. http://hotair.com/archives/2016/08/...-investing-in-or-taking-over-a-media-company/
Also as the campaign drags on and trump is losing he will go after the GOP and the media. Blame them for the loss. Still making trump into a hero among the breitbart/alt right.

one of trumps advisors has had a long history of complaints of racism, specifically antisemitism. he hires the best people.

LOL. One of my favorite ways to spot an antisemite is that instead of saying something to the tune of, say, what an inappropriate and frivolous allegation that is in light of the millions of Jews murdered and the seriousness of that crime, the answer is some version of "my best friend is black."

And unrelated to that, but this gem always worth posting, best 10 seconds ever:

So who else thinks Trump is pissed off that the US is crushing at the Olympics?

Kind of goes against his whole America never wins thing.

And with one speech, Trump wiped his slate clean. I think he made some great strides tonight. This ain't over by a long shot.

You know Trump gave a great speech, when the lefties on the CNN round table discussion aren't so smug, and are frustrated and struggling to find arguments against anything he said.

The lefty black guy on the panel inadvertently just slammed Obama's work in the black community over the past eight years, by going over the multitude of issues that haven't been addressed. He was desperately trying to make a point that Trump wouldn't fix them, while forgetting that his boy in the White House has done fuck all about them for eight years. He got called out quite nicely on it, by that brave blonde Trump supporter, who seems to be the only Trump supporter CNN allows on their network on a regular basis.

I don't quite think that is how it works.
