I get the initial trade. He just won the Cy Young, so I get it. Didn't work out, but whatever. What I don't get is them picking up his option for this year. They didn't even have enough confidence to leave him in a 7-1 laugher against the Rangers in the playoffs last year. Yanked him in the fifth, to waste our ace. Then, he goes on to get his shit pushed in by the Royals.

Oh' but those innings pitched are priceless...
 
The home plate ref in the Red Sox match sucks. Zone the size of a thimble.

Picking up R.A's option was the biggest no brainer of the offseason...

He's been horrible this year, I'll concede that, but he was a slightly above average starter from 13' to 15', and even average starters get PAID in free agency. See Ian Kennedy.
 
Price is tanking for the Red Cans. Doing it out of spite after all those years of hatred imo

Apparently not. Looks like they should've used their brains a bit more, and realized this guy has nothing left. I'd designate him for assignment at this point. Take a chance with Hutch. At least he shows signs of being good. Dickey is just an automatic L. I mean really, when is enough enough?

Hindsight is 20/20. Hutchison fell out of the rotation and wasn't even on the playoff roster. I'd rather take my chances with the guy who has a sub 4.00 ERA and gives you 200 innings than drew fucking hutchison.

I didn't watch todays game, but Dickey pitched 7 innings, 2 earned runs and 6 hits. We certainly didn't lose because of Dickey. Solid start.
 
Chris Devenski is the best pitcher no one has ever heard of. 3 legit plus pitches (throws the cambio 34% of the time which I absolutely love). Looks like a Corey Kluber/Alex Cobb hybrid.

No hindsight with me. I've been calling this useless prick's game out for a good two seasons now.

Hutch ain't great, but he doesn't fuck with the team's mojo like Dickey does. You get what you get with him. Whereas with Dickey, the team is already defeated before he even throws a pitch. Hence their lack of confidence in the field today. That doesn't happen with a traditional fast ball pitcher. These guys on the field have no idea where the ball is going with Dickey. Oh', and I can't emphasize this enough, we have to take his A-ball catcher along for the ride. Thole is just as big of a problem as Dickey is. They're fucking POISON.

You take your 7 innings, stat man. I'll take W's any day of the week.
 
As a twins fan all this talk of big ped and Nathan makes me sad.
