The narrative that Sanders only appeals to "anti-establishment" leftists is so absurd. That may describe his appeal among moderates and Republicans, but certainly not among leftists who are firmly and intelligently supportive of his agenda and critical of Hillary's porous history in regard to private interests, foreign policy, and genuine ideological regard for her constituents.

Either way, it looks like the US will get Clinton. But make no mistake that we deserve Trump or worse.

Bernie will back Hillary because she is better on the cuases he believes in. She has for the most part a moderate liberal record and he knows that is better than a racist nativist that will say whatever he needs to, to win. He understands the real political dynamic here and we will take the right side.

She is running for his 3rd term essentially the differences between her and Obama are very small if any at this point given that Obama turned out to be in favor of more military intervention then his fans in 08 figured he would be. In fact Obama turned out more like Clinton from 08 than himself.

Still doesn't change the fact that Obama is likely to be a better president than Hillary was. But Obama backs Hillary because he knows that Clinton represents logical progress and will continue the progress we have made.

But in a nut shell, the death of the Republicans came from Bush's correspondent's dinner speech.

When he joked about not finding WMDs, and the radio and TV news media gave him a standing ovation, that was no doubt the evidence of the blue print that Trump needed to put in effect to win the primaries.

In the world of business, when you fuck up as bad as Bush did, you resign. You resign to save face from getting your ass fired. Only in the world of poltics can you fuck up that bad and get re-elected, and have the media cover your back.

The world of politics simply lacks the accountabiity of the business world, or any other world for that matter.

The Don knows he could just appeal to the mass's disdain to Islam and immigrants and the marginalized out groups that exist.

A little bit of that, and a few catch phrases on making america great, having Mexicans pay for a wall, chants of USA and platitudes about saying making good deals - it is all it took to embarrass life long politicians of the Republican establishment. Again, the chickens have come home to roost.
