Elections 2016 Democratic National Convention

You're moving the goalposts.

You specifically mentioned his failures in your first post, got a reply, and now you're trying to focus on his successes.

I'm not moving the goal posts at all.

I stated he failed at everything but 2 things

You said he has 500 successful businesses

What are they? Are they subsidiaries of the 2 things he's been successful with?

Why company has like 100 subsidiaries even though they all perform the same function. But we have subs for a variety of reasons ranging from geography, to client contract negotiation etc...

Or were those 500 subs un der the umbrella of on of his companies that went bankrupt so they didn't have to declare it themselves

Can you point out where he's been successful?

I don't know how much we disagree. I've been thoroughly displeased with the Republicans for over a decade now and the Tea Party nonsense drove me further away. Then you had people like Grover Norquist (who can go burn in hell) holding the party hostage - but they let him do it. I wouldn't call Kasich's opinions on gay marriage or religious freedom "conservative" or very "Republican" at all, though, and those are only two issues from the debates that I remember. As for "real Republicans," the parties have shifted so much that that point has lost its meaning. The Republicans used to be the federalists and the Democrats the party of state's rights in the early part of last century. Now that has totally flip-flopped.

The Republicans have needed a change for a very long time.

All he said on Gay Marriage is that the Supreme Court's ruling is the law of he land.

Does that make him liberal?

I'm a Republican and I'm not voting for Trump because he's a buffoon who's failed at everything he's tried except inheriting a fortune and becoming a reality TV star.

He's basically Kim Kardashian.
i saw marco rubio today say that trump doesnt have experience but he will learn on the job. lol.
Bill O'Reilly said it
thomas sowell who is a hero to a lot of right wing sherdoggers also says it. he says black families were better off during slavery.

I used to follow Sowell, he actually said that?

The only thing I can think that's remotely close is he'll defend Washington and Jefferson for owning slaves. He also defends the founding fathers not putting it into the constitution and Lincoln not being more aggressive with Emancipation.

But more of that has to do with how politically the South wouldn't go along with it and also hat Washington and Jefferson inherited their slaves and that just freeing them wasn't a simple act.

No, you said he has been a failure at his businesses.

The key word is "failure," not "success." Not once did I ever say "success" in any of my replies except to explicitly state that I was not focused on Trump's successes, I was rebutting your notion of his failures.

So working with your own premise that Trump is a "failure," I posted how Trump had owned over 500 businesses and only a small amount have declared bankruptcy.

That's insane. I'm not going to sit here and defend all his business practices but to say he's been a failure is laughable at best.

To quote your post again, the most pertinent bolded:

That's simply not true at all. Even outside of his businesses, he didn't fail at grabbing the nomination of one of the two most powerful political parties on earth.

And I stand by what I said until somebody can show me something he didn't fail at outside of land appreciation and reality TV.

How about building a brand, and selling people his name?

I mean anyone can sell gold, or oil. It takes a special kind of intelligence to get people to pay you to use your name.

Trump, and selling his brand, is literally him building an empire out of nothing.

Trump's most valued asset, is leasing his name.

That's the reality TV part.

I don't think so. Trump was leasing his name in the 80's and 90's, before TV all became garbage.

You can say leasing his name is con-artist work, but it none the less points to a certain amount of intelligence, and success, not built from a trust fund.

His film credits go back to 1985 when he appeared as himself in The Jeffersons. The Brand is based off TV and his Real Estate.

Also (like most things regarding Trump) it looks like there is some question on how much it's really worth.

In 2011, Forbes' financial experts estimated the value of the Trump brand at $200 million. Trump disputes this valuation, saying that his brand is worth about $3 billion.[139] Many developers pay Trump to market their properties and to be the public face for their projects.[140] For that reason, Trump does not own many of the buildings that display his name.[140] According to Forbes, this portion of Trump's empire, actually run by his children, is by far his most valuable, having a $562 million valuation. According to Forbes, there are 33 licensing projects under development including seven "condo hotels" (the seven Trump International Hotel and Tower developments). In June 2015, Forbes pegged the Trump brand at USD$125 million[141] as retailers like Macy's Inc. and Serta Mattresses began dropping Trump branded products, with Macy's saying they are "disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico."[142][143]

Well of course brand building is done through media.

I believe the point of the exchange, was whether or not Trump's business history is proof of success and intelligence, which I believe leasing his name shows.

I had to tap out on that video. If I wanted to hear two people arguing over each other, I'd find some tapes of me and an ex.

Is there a point to that video (substance wise)? Shit like that drives up my blood pressure and makes me lose IQ points by the second.
