well ya, but they have like zero perimeter defenders. well old ass deng, but that's it

i'm also assuming they're tanking. pulling the only serious defender and champion vet (5 minutes per game or not) in Moz was a clear sign they don't give a fuck, especially w/ what they're paying him.

lou will is only good b/c he's allowed to iso and just chuck away, especially in the 4th qtr when they're normally behind and teams are playing lax D and he tends to pull them back in the game. You could just as easily let Swaggy P chuck more and likely get similar results. Or even Randle's no D ass

Wizcans apparently working pretty hard to get Shabazz Muhammad. Can't claim I've seen enough of him to say whether he'll be a good fit. His numbers look encouraging, for what they need, but I don't know much about his game.

If that's what they want then there's no reason Faps can't make something happen. They've got both Pattercan and Sullinshit expiring. Plus I'm sure they wouldn't care about losing a pick cause Masai is Ainge-tier when it comes to drafting anyways

I think making Magic head of basketball operations is merely a PR move to give everyone the "feel goods" since they are cleaning house.

I think this is an addition by subtraction since Jim Buss needed to go. I'm not sure exactly why Mitch was let go, though. I think he's a good, if not great GM. He is a bit old school, however, and maybe the Lakers are going for a more analytics guy.

My other theory is that Mitch didn't know how to stand up to Jim Buss, so he had to go too since he lacked spin. Or, even worse, he was a big Jim Buss supporter.

They say Jerry West won't be part of the new regime, which is both understandable, and a shame.

The best case scenario would be hiring an analytics guy and Jerry West. Jerry West is the best for talent assessment and trades. However, I don't think West can be had or if he would cede control over things.
