Yeah it's the game I'm talking about. No doubt the parties are sick. I just feel you play the game a certain way all season, everything is consistent. Then you get to the Super Bowl, and the TV timeouts are longer, the 2 minute warning is longer, in between quarters is longer, the halftime is longer, they go to video review and they squeeze in an extra ad or two. I just hate that part.

Whore the game out all they want, I don't care, just don't fuck with the skin and bones of the actual game
 
Don't know what I"m going to do when Rays leave. Don't know whether to root for wherever they go and are called next ala Expos/Nats or to just bandwagon a new team.

The Jays lost fans because they dismantled the team, the baseball strike, the Leafs got good for a few years and the Jays were sold to Interbrew who didn't care about them...I got rid of my shared season tickets at this time...I have been to games where it snowed and the team was barely competitive...but there was always a solid and knowledgeable fan base...the fan base now is very different...

Me and my buddy pulled the trigger on Sox game 6 WS tickets during game 1 when Wainright got shelled, paid $1500 for the pair. Wasn't sure it would make it there but we lucked out. By the time Game 6 came around our tickets were going for 2 or 3 times what we paid.

It's a lot of money to pay for a baseball game but that was the first time the Sox had clinched at Fenway since 1918.

Even if I was such a die hard that I paid $750 each for tickets... faced with the ability to then sell them for $1,500 to $2,250 I'd have gladly done so and watched at a local sports bar like a king.

Collins is a good story his last job as a manger in the majors was for the Cangels back in 99, he went to Japan to manage in 08-09. I remember when the Mets hired him he was thought to be a placeholder until the young players developed I don't think anyone thought Collins would lead them to the playoffs this season.
