They can't because they don't have any draft picks to rebuild with. They'd essentially become the Knicks if they did that.
Well, they only owe their 2015 1st rounder to Cleveland, and everything beyond that is all just 2nd rounders. Not to mention the fact, that I think they could easily reacquire it back if LeBron does, in fact, re-sign with Cleveland, and Miami agreed to help facilitate via S&T...
Plus, even if they didn't have picks, I still think a lineup of young vets, Bledsoe, Monroe, Parsons, and Stephenson (Utah will almost def match Hayward), would be far superior to any of the lineups the Knicks put out there during the Melo years, and would also make for one very desirable FA destination...
