well Bosnian will be pissed, good thing I am not a Croatian living in Bosnia right about now..

Fuck yeah!

As long as Iran don't beat Bosnia, we through to the KO stages.

That's the football Gods punishing Dzeko for his ridiculous timewasting dive at the death of that one City game late in the season.

Wow, Bosnia gone. Nigeria look likely but now Iran has a sneaky chance to slip through.

Argentina first.
Nigeria second.

Iran still in with a chance.

Any chance of US v Iran ?

Man now I hope Iran gets the second spot. Nigeria doesn't deserve it.

Rooting for 'murrica but fear they're heading for a rate proper thrashing tomorrow.

That white kid of theirs with the dreads does not belong at the World Cup.

Here's hoping Ronaldo will be using Benzema cream tomorrow

for his puffy eyes

In the case of the Mexico game, they scored three goals, technically, but only one counted because the other two were erroneously called offsides.

I think they could do what they do in American football: anytime a team scores (or appears to score), the officials review it. Something like Maradona's "Hand of God" would not hold up in this scenario.

Well, I just spent an hour on the phone with my father, and apparently he's all for video replays. He says they shouldn't be abused, but in certain situations they could save a team from being eliminated on a bad call.

He actually remembered a game he officiated in 1984 where he gave a red card to a player from The Netherlands for a foul, and reviewing the video of the game (after the fact) he noticed that he'd missed the initial foul by the American (which had happened ten feet from him) and only caught the retaliation.

He was an incredible referee and one of the reasons was that he had no pride; he owned his mistakes, even thirty years later. He never let himself forget them once he made them.

This

Puts the onus on the Manager & relieves the pressure from a Referee dropping a catastrophic clanger, somewhat.

My father recommended exactly this; each team gets a set number of "challenges".
