now,if we play well and at least reach the semis i could see him staying

Schmelzer is not in good enough shape and he is a player who needs to be at 100%, so that is OK. Mustafi was obvious. Cutting Volland was retarded, though. He isn't at his best as lone striker but at least he can play it. Draxler is absolutely useless when you already have three better players on the bench for his position.

If Klose injures himself or isn't in shape then the team is fucked. Stupid false 9 system only worked for crazy dominant teams so far and the team is not even close to that. Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Khedira are not at 100% and

Say Portugal manages to win the group. That means you get Belgium in last 16, not an easy game. After that is winner of Argentina vs Switzerland. Brazil next.

If you win the group, you get Russia or South Korea. Then France vs Nigeria/Bosnia winner. Spain in the semis on this side of the bracket.

Belgium-Argentina-Brazil-Spain in knockout stage would be brutal lineup.

I think you mean USA will be playing Belgium in the last 16. Or, maybe you meant to say 'USA manages to win the group'.
 
So is the starting back line going to be all Bundesliga? Still trying to figure out what USA is going to do back there.

the US backline has zero chemistry together. i feel like the defense changed every time i saw them in qualifying. its hard to build a solid defense like that

EDIT: Colombia also announced their squad. Falcao is officially out of the World Cup.

GK: David Ospina (Nice), Faryd Mondragon (Deportivo Cali), Camilo Vargas (Santa Fe).

I'm calling it now. The standout young player of the 2014 world cup will be Raheem Sterling of England/Liverpool. Watch his value sky-rocket.

It's going to be difficult, but who reckons they makes it out of the group stage? If so, at who's expense? That's a really tough group.
 
Nope. I think Italy and Uraguay will make it out.
