Having Maradona posterize all 11 has to be the worst.

Just remember england didn't even go to the first couple of WCs because they thought they were much too good.

your being a bit harsh on the English, i'd say between 86'-02' they were legit threats to win the World Cup or EURO (on paper). Only Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, France were clearly better and England played them all relatively close and were unlucky...86" hand of god to eventual champs, Losing PK shootout in 90' and EURO 96 to germany, Brazil 02'. All losses to the eventual champions.

I wouldn't bother mate. bashing the English players and teams is a favorite pasttime on here.

Its pointless pointing out anything.

saying things like no one will be worried about facing England, when the reality is that if any team draws England in the KO stage they, of course will be worried and respect them. Same as if any team plays any other team.

To say that other teams will not be concerned about jhaving to play England indicates a complete lack of knowledge of what the game is about.

Not just those two if we're talking Euros as well. Beat France in 82 WC, have beaten Spain a couple of times in the Euros, tonked Holland in 96 and beat Germany in 2000. Tons of draws as well.

But no, we're not exactly deadly opponents for good teams historically.

Let's face it. You lot tend to go overboard with your love-hate for your NT. Either you're uncrowned World Champions or are worse than a Sunday league squad.

Over the 34yrs that I've watched England, the expectations of English fans have far exceeded performance of the team. English fans believe that they are contenders for every WC but they haven't been in any ... and missed 2 of them.

OK, kids. We'll have plenty of time to make fun of our English pals here.

Meanwhile, things are brewing on the 2022 side. Adidas, Sony and Visa are calling FIFA out regarding all the bribe allegations related with Qatar. Now, take in fact they're FIFA partners. Which means, they're the sponsors of all FIFA-sanctioned competitions, and therefore who pony up more money toward them.

Now that they'll have to answer to big money, gotta wonder if Platini and his sheik homies will give in, and Qatar lose the 2022 rights.
 
2022 is coming to where it should be. USA USA USA!
 
I'm a couple hours away from 'murca so it'd be a decent excuse to go visit. Hope it happens
 
I don't want to hear that bloody song again anyways.
 
I'd rather see the world cup in Australia than America for 2022.
