Yeah he did really well at Brighton, but so did Di Canio at Swindon. I just think for youngish temperamental managers like that it's always boom and bust when it comes to dealing with the pressures of a big club.

Gonna be another interesting season anyhow; especially with 4 or 5 teams who could realistically win the league.

LOL, he is nothing at all like Di canio. Its easy to just say something like that from the outside, but believe me the whole situation and scenario are completely different.

Di canio was a worry before he even arrived, The football in all honesty was not that great and he turned the players against him pretty quick and was actually disliked by staff players and fans pretty quickly.

Poyet has got Sunderland playing good football, is liked by staff players and fans and is in no way whatsoever in any sort of sense a loose cannon like Di canio.

Just ask people who used to play with them, peope take the piss out of Di canio and say he is the last person they would have imagined as a manager.

Poyet has a lot of respect from some top players he played with and many of them say he had all the right qualities and was always destined to manage.

Plus Gus makes sense, half the time Di canio talked nonsense and even the fans where asking WTF planet he was on.

So yeah, not really that similar.

So now the season is all but over, let's do an analysis of our teams:

Man Utd

-Player of the year: Wayne Rooney (edges De Gea)
-Disappointment of the year: Michael Carrick (could have been anyone)
-Prospect of the year: Adnan Januzaj
-Ideal summer signings (3max): Mats Hummels,Toni Kroos, Sami Khedira
-Predicted finish next season: 3rd
 
might be fake but I doubt the Chevrolet logo will look any different can't complain for $560m I guess

Arsenal

-Player of the year:Laurent Koscielny (edges Ramsey due to games played)
-Disappointment of the year: Nacho Monreal
-Prospect of the year: Serge Gnabry?
-Ideal summer signings (3max): Balotelli, Pogba, Coleman
-Predicted finish next season: 4th? (With Wenger it's too hard to predict how he'll handle transfer business, which will be key this summer if Arsenal is to challenge higher)
 
Brazil's squad seems a bit average:

Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar (Toronto FC, on loan from QPR), Jefferson (Botafogo), Victor (Atletico Mineiro).

Defenders: Marcelo (Real Madrid), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Maicon (AS Roma), Maxwell and Thiago Silva (both Paris St-Germain), David Luiz (Chelsea), Dante (Bayern Munich), Henrique (Napoli).

Midfielders: Paulinho (Tottenham Hotspur), Ramires (Chelsea), Willian (Chelsea), Oscar (Chelsea), Hernanes (Inter Milan), Luiz Gustavo (Wolfsburg), Fernandinho (Manchester City).

Forwards: Bernard (Shakhtar Donetsk), Neymar (Barcelona), Fred (Fluminense), Jo (Atletico Mineiro), Hulk (Zenit St Petersburg).



I expected to see more stars. Robinho, Kaka are not included. Ex-Man City player "Jo" got a place, WTF??? They've even got a Tottenham player in there! Their defence looks good mind you.

But seriously though, seems kinda weak IMO.

I'd agree with most of your choices.

Not Monreal though, he's a backup player and it shows whenever he plays. I'd put Wenger there, had a great chance to push on with the transfer window in Jan too, and he didn't get anyone in. It was clear that the team was missing someone in midfield and upfront, and he didn't do anything.

What happened to Gnabry? He was playing so well but seemed to disappear into the reserves when Ox came back, which wasn't fair on him.
 
It's been a funny season, until Christmas, Arsenal were dominant, almost running away with the title, then Chelsea looked like they were gonna win, then Liverpool looked like the champions elect ... and now it seems that City have it in the bag, despite never really leading in 1st place for that long at all.

Crazy. Slow and steady wins the race, the premiership is a marathon and not a sprint.

The Financial Fair Play (FFP) thing is in the news again, they want to fine Man City 50m quid for breaking the rules and over-spending.

Same as France (if we compare Brazil and France to say Spain and Germany), good first 11 that could have impressive run in WC with just those but the bench players are not that good. Why didnt Lucas Moura didnt make it i wonder?

UEFA just want the cash themselves, they haven't commented what the money will go towards. But yeah, I imagine City have got their expensive legal team against it.

Fair, but Nacho used to at least be a reliable back up, lately TV5 has done better there. though i agree with Wenger being the best pick if coach's can be included.

Gnabry got injured at some point, but I think that was in training and had stopped being used before that anyway (since Wenger hates to rotate)
