People really have any expectation Ancelotti would leave Real for United. Why?

Doubt he would leave, but I think the speculation stems from the fact that, Real madrid being Real madrid, they could well decide to get rid if he fails to win either the league or champions league. So he could well be a free agent.

I could understand that if there was a replacement in mind.

In the case of Ancelotti though, few are a step up.

Wenger and Ozil to United.

Well, Klopp has ruled himself out of becoming Man Utd manager.

If they stick with Van Gaal, Utd will no doubt have to wait till the end of the World Cup before they can bring him in. Giving himself less time and leverage to spend that epic warchest being touted by everyone!

lol @ ppl saying Wenger, no chance!

If I was the Man Utd board, I would probably either wait for Real to sack Ancellotti and then sign him OR get Martinez from Everton ...

Looking forward to Liverpool v Chelsea this weekend, if the media are to be believed regarding the weakened Chelsea starting line-up, I can see Liverpool dishing out another hammering!!

Hopefully the Saints can take more points from Everton and pave the way for us to secure 4th.

if you read his full quotes it's not of a man "ruling himself out" but that said I think klopp is a loyal guy and can see him honoring his contract

and for ancelotti real madrid are real madrid plus zidane has been touted for ages now

first press conference that isn't negative for once and not full of "we will try" :P

What do my fellow MUFCers think of (touted signing) Adam Lallana joining?

I think if he is 1 of 2-3 midfielders joining, that would be ok, but on his own I'd be hugely disappointed. He is a step up from what we have now, but that is not saying much. We have been linked to Fabregas, Reus, Kroos, Koke etc- Lallana is not that level.

.....and 55million for Lallana/Shaw would make me cry a little. They are players who could get us back into the top 4, not challenge for all the big honours, imo.

I think he is alright no kroos but we need 2-3 new midfield players so doubt he would be the only one we would get but shaw is a must imo fact that Southampton owe

Lol at the idea of United raiding Everton for their manager two years in a row. Then maybe Moyes could get his old job back too

English players always cost more people scoffed at rio's price etc maybe 55 is a bit too much but i'd rather just have shaw

At least Rio was an England regular at the time, and a CB is always going to cost more than a LB.

But I agree, I'd prefer just Shaw, and not Lallana. Think Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson, Cleverly etc days of being first choice CMs should be over, but Lallana is not good enough (though I think he'd do ok).

better than the crap moyes brought from everton apart from the goalkeeper coach who's staying anyway and phil neville

Wonder what team Giggs will play- we have 3 "home bankers" in a row now. Could easily see us picking up 9 comfortable points.

bah gawd

There is a possibility they do not win La Liga/Decima and he gets sacked. I would love it if he took over United.

Wenger and Ozil to United.

One out of two ain't bad

Personally, reading that I don't view that as ruling it out. Klopp basically just said that there hasn't even been an offer. If United signed Martinez, that would really be something. Even imaging Wenger taking over MUFC is weird. I think LVG would tell MUFC board who he wants, and I think there are going to be some players the club will try to sign regardless, ex. Luke Shaw.

I would really like it. He is English (so overpriced, already), but I think he would slot in well, and if the new manager has Giggs/Scholes/Butt around AL would improve learning under them (duh). AL is not the level of those guys, but AL/Kroos would be a huge improvement over what we have now. I do not want to see the club even waste their time w/ Cesc. 55 million quid for Shaw/Lallana would be fine, b/c Shaw is 30 of that. 25MM for a English midfielder who is enterting the prime of his career? I'll pay that.

You think 55million for the 2 is ok? 35 million seems a lot more reasonable to me..............suppose it depends on the budget. I've heard anything from 80m-200m.

35MM for those two? Come on man, So'ton can get 30 for Shaw by himself. Shaw is 18 and LB is settled for 10+ years (hopefully).

Wonder what team Giggs will play- we have 3 "home bankers" in a row now. Could easily see us picking up 9 comfortable points.

DDG, Rafa, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Fletcher, Januzaj, Wazza, Welbeck, RVP/Chica. Honestly, I hope it is an all-out-attack.

Actually, I want Giggs to pick himself and captain the squad for the last game.

Would be great, as I reckon it will be his last game as a player :(

Ryan Giggs 1-0 David Moyes: New interim boss is 'proud, happy and a bit nervous'... but can't wait for 5.30 on Saturday as Man United legend makes assured start

Speaking ahead of Saturday's home game against Norwich in the Barclays Premier League, Giggs said: 'This is the proudest moment of my career and I will enjoy the next two-and-a-half weeks of the season.

'I will bring back smiles on people’s faces and I can't wait for the game to come. 'The stadium will be bouncing. The players have been really sharp all week and I have just told them to enjoy themselves on Saturday and to give the supporters something to smile about.'
