Did a google map search of 30 and 30a intersection in Schoharie. I used a terrain(topography) setting. Then it all made sense.
Schoharie is on the northern edge of the Catskill mountains. The valley is relatively deep, being carved out of glacial retreating and a prominent creek of the same name as the town. the section of route 30 south there has an almost 600ft drop in elevation over a mile before reaching the intersection. Take that, coupled with an overloaded vehicle, that isn't inspected, A modified vehicle at that, you/re just asking for catastrophic brake failure at a high rate of speed.
not to mention the fact that the Limo service was corrupt as %^@#.
