1962 Alcatraz escape

I can almost guarantee they made it. Theres no man eating sharks in that area and im sure at least some more clothes would of been found. I dont think their bodies sank titanic style. They made it to shore.

If they died then where are their bodies? Even as shark food, there'd still be something left over.

I think they made it.

I'm sure that's exactly what they were telling each other while their nervous system was shutting down from hypothermia as sharks and crabs pulled their bodies apart.

Possibly even the seal lions got him? It is pretty much free food for any of the creatures in that part of the water.

They're still in the prison. . . .

The calls are coming from inside the house!!!

These two escaped Alcatraz and were immediately presumed dead although never found. This was during a period where Alcatraz pounded it's chest as the inescapable prison where as they were in their final days when Morris/Anglin escaped.

The guys got out during day time while there was heavy fog and they concluded there was no way they could have made it.

Hmm.. Looks like we have a potential suspect

If the bodies never washed up then they got home scott free.

If cubans can swim from Havana to Miami then, how far is alcatraz from the shore line?

reminds of Carlitos way

Sean Penn killed that role. so overlooked

Sean Penn is stellar all around.

Well, when he's not beating women and shooting guns at airborne helicopters.

No idea but I'm fascinated by the story, and have seen Clint's movie about 20 times.

No way they made it. No one without extensive raft-making experience is going to be able to put together an inflatable raft from raincoats and barge cement that's going hold 3 people and stay afloat long enough to make it to land. No sane person would trust such a craft: for this to actually work, at least several trial-runs would have to be made to work out the kinks. These guys took a dip in the bay when the raft gave out and their bodies washed long ago out into the Pacific and became crab food.

The brothers may have made it. It is believe that their mother passed away a few years later and police officers attended just incase there was a chance the brothers went and turns out the police officers spotted to manly built looking ladies, covered in makeup and wearing big hats and the back of the ceremony and when the police had a chance to go over and investigate they both had completely disappeared. It is believed that the two 'ladies' were in fact the brothers ?

I know these men were no saints, but their desire for freedom is admirable. There escape demonstrates the beauty human ingenuity--no, their plans embody it. They could NOT be held down: fatigue, death--nothing stopped them from escaping and getting back their freedom. And the fact that their bodies were not found makes me believe they were able to escape.

died cuz of the tides

but no1 knows fosho

This. It's not against the law to break out of prison in Denmark, Germany, Austria and Mexico (iirc). This one is classic...

"Wandsworth prisoner Neil Moore was on remand when he used an illicit mobile phone to create a fake email account.
He posed as a senior court clerk and sent bail instructions to prison staff, who released him on 10 March 2014.
His deception was uncovered when solicitors went to interview him three days later, only to find him gone."

you have no clue about marine life,do you?
whats left over by sharks and sea lions goes to small fish and crabs

only thing that could be left are clothes and bones but those would be moved away by the currents

Yeah, but not in the amount of time before the massive search was on. The search began within hours of their escape. If they had died, the chances are astronomical that something would have been found.

I don't think they made it. We haven't been able to find anything from that plane that went down in Asia last yr. No wreckage, no bodies, no crash, nothing and i bet they all dead too. I know the ocean is a bigger area to search but I plane crash leave millions of pieces and nothing has be found. So 4 bodies in a smaller body of water (at time when searches didn't use the tech we have today) haven't been found, doesn't surprise me.

The thing about the plane crash though, is that nobody had any clue where to look for it. These guys were in a predefined area, if they were still in the water. It's not to say they didn't drown, just that the plane crash last year is a clumsy parallel.

Anyway, the story is more interesting to me assuming that they escaped, otherwise it's just a few guys jumping into the bay and drowning. I'd love for confirmation of their survival to come out, after all these years, but I'm sure it won't. No way any of them are alive anymore, and it would have likely come out shortly after these guys died if they were going to come clean.

they can't even find an airplane with over 200 people
