I love that there is an "untrained" caveat to this scenario, like there are people who would have training in fighting gorillas in hand to hand combat, or that it would matter if they were legit martial artists... chimps rip people's faces off, a silverback gorilla would tear a man in half like peeling a banana.

The gorilla will tire itself out. Or possibly chicken out when faced with 12 opponents. Not like it is trained to fight humans either.

"No access to weaponry" feels like a bit of an unfair advantage for the gorilla anyway. Anyplace other than inside a cage the first thing a human being would to is find some sort of blunt or sharp instrument to use. And those are pretty easy to come by in any natural enviroment.

Unarmed, the strongmen would lose due to lacking the primal killer instinct, the canines and the strength.

I mean, a strongman is super human, but look at a gorilla... their arms are about as thick as a human leg ffs, they're basically a quadrupedal animal, with the ability to use their upper appendages as legs and arms.

Humans dominate the world in other ways, but unarmed, flesh vs flesh, a gorilla can fuck shit up against many other animals, humans don't even compare.

If it weren't for those fangs I'd pick the guys. Gorillas (and chimps for that matter) are all fast twitch muscles, tire out fast. But it takes only one, low energy bite to incapacitate a human.

If he's 12x stronger than anyone, assuming he's not slowed down by gravity and can produce adequate speed, he'd probably be able to bench 10000+ lbs. He could literally throw that thing around like a rag doll.

To the death doesn't mean untrained regular dudes won't break mentally at seeing people torn apart. They would have a chance if they swarmed like a pack of wolves from the start. But untrained and unarmed humans aren't gonna do that. Gorillas are absurdly strong, people itt are really underestimating their raw strength.
