I spent 100k for this with self driving supervised included. Use it for my business to haul stuff, over abundance of solar, it fit the bill. Sure, it’s fast, but the self driving is an absolute cherry on top, I didn’t know how much I hated driving until I fully embraced self driving , truly amazing technology. Only a matter of time before i can sleep and arrive at destination, it’s already safer than most humans.

Last time I did this thread, it was a few years ago and I ended up buying a hellcat challenger. I drove it around for 2 months before I realized you didn’t have the full 700hp until you were into sport mode. It was fun but I’ve moved on.

I think its more than 100k tho. hes been trying to get me to get a corvette for a while now. He says, 60-70k and get that corvette. Maybe in the next few years for me

Statistically a human will purchase 8-10 vehicles in their lifetime. I think people put too much emphasis on depreciation and resale aspects to where they regret a good purchase.

That being said I would just get a R34 Skyline.

I do routinely take rest with my eyes closed, especially at long lights, it's only a few minutes, but it's helpful, you'll wake up when the car starts moving. Also especially helpful if you want to get under the influence and drive, the car drives especially well when there's less traffic at night, and at this point, I trust it more than handing off the driving to my wife, who has a hard time maneuvering large vehicles.... and even if my wife werent around, I have no issues letting the car drive me home, interventions during the drive, wherever it is, is next to zero...... Did a drive from la to moreno valley during traffic, and 3+ hours one way, no interactions, pretty great at this point.

the biggest concern currently is the last 10 yards, finding parking, pulling into driveways, pulling over to the correct curve, even if intoxicated, not intoxicated enough to slow down and push a button to choose the parking spot. At some point, the robotaxi software should be good enough that you dont need to be in the drivers seat, possibly in two years if I'm being really conservative..... it's so good that when I travel to other states, I try to book a self driving tesla through turo.... Self driving is slowly converging with Uber like travel, and at some point, I'm hoping it becomes just as good so that I dont have to sit in the drivers seat anymore.

I dont think the r34 is over, 100, nsx and lambo seem way more? rx7 is a toy car in comparison I think. I think there's different choices if 100K that you can barely manage to pay vs 100K where you can pay in full.

This is just fun, I wouldn’t drop that much on a car even if I had 1 million in the bank tbh. Unless I was certain that car was kind a classic and would appreciate in value..

Rx7 is a legendary car man, nothing close to a toy..
