Not really. I could reference video where Muslims were tired of the news reporting offenders as Muslims instead of Asians. The news started calling suspected perps Asians, which angered the Sikhs and other groups from that region. The issue is more complicated than your version.
And the Tweets were from real people, unless you say they aren't. The tweets quoted actually bring up excellent points (that are also feminist in nature). If you don't think that's proper journalism, then we agree. But it doesn't mean the tweets don't have veracity. I just don't think respected articles should bring up tweets from Joe Public, but I didn't post it as some sort of respectable,, Associated Press article, either.
The British press has always referred to them as Asians. I mean sure... there's no doubt a bunch of Brits complaining that they didn't call them "Pakis". By all means, show me where this "started" as a PC conspiracy.
They posted the tweets without referencing their content, "Under sharia law, it's OK to rape any non-Muslim woman because they are "infidels."
Piss poor even by tabloid standards, about par for American political blogs commenting on issues in Europe.
