My punk ass 15 year old kid is always chirping about modern MMA, and that "old school" MMA sucked.

I recently purchased fight pass and want to school his ass on all the classic fights of that era. I have the afternoon off, and would like to watch some classic fights with my son.

Mark Shultz vs Gary Goodridge. That's what popped my cherry

It's scary to think 15 year olds were born in 2001 o.0

Are you thinking old fights that are technically comparable to today or something like Frye vs. Takayama?

If you want your son to enjoy some of the older UFC fights, then go to fightpass and search Dan Severn vs Ken Shamrock 2 at UFC 9 , your son will enjoy it hugely, and he is sure to become a fan of the old era of MMA. just leave him for an hour alone to watch it.

You prick. You are taking what could be a teachable moment for a young MMA fan and fucking it up.

Older technical fights. Vintage Ramoage,Wandy,Cro-Cop, Couture,Fedor,Vitor, ect...

Personally I loved the Fry vs Takayama fight. My kid would criticize it, saying it was two bums with no skill wailing in each other.

Yeah, I love it too. Frank Shamrock's UFC run is a good one to show.

Yeah. It's a shame Shultz stuck with coaching wrestling and gave up on MMA. He could have been a great pioneer of the sport.
It was stupid that his employer was able to prevent him from doing a second job.

Sad thing for Shultz is that is career in coaching also flopped. He also survived a pretty bad car accident.

Yeah true. But that motherfucker could wrestle. And he could fight. If he would have competed in ufc 1 or even worse his brother Dave, it would have been Royce who?
