Ah, fuck.
Doctors have told the mother of Maya Gebala she will not last the night.

began to transition at 12?
i thought that simply doesn't happen.
Apparently we do have red flag laws and I don't think a judge needs to be involved just a call to the cops but don't quote me on that part.Unconfirmed stuff but I’m seeing that cops frequently went to their house for mental health episodes and they tried to burn the house down once
The only type of gun control I’m ok with are red flag type cases (with a judge involved. Not just cops) where someone is clearly a threat to community even if they haven’t yet broken a law enough to be arrested and held.
Does Canada not have red flag laws?

Looks like Brave A.I found it before the press did :
Jesse Van Rootselaar, an 18-year-old transgender woman, has been identified as the suspect in the mass shooting at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in British Columbia, Canada, on February 10, 2026. She was born male but began transitioning to female approximately six years ago and identified as female socially and publicly.
Van Rootselaar opened fire at the school and a nearby residence, resulting in nine deaths, including herself. She was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the school. The victims at the school included a 39-year-old female teacher, three 12-year-old female students, and two male students aged 12 and 13. Two additional victims—her 39-year-old mother and 11-year-old stepbrother—were found dead at their home, where the shooting occurred before the school attack.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) confirmed that Van Rootselaar had a history of mental health-related police calls at her family home and had previously been apprehended under the Mental Health Act. Firearms were seized from the home in the past, though the lawful owner had petitioned for their return. She had an expired firearms license and no guns registered in her name at the time of the incident.
The RCMP stated there is no evidence that the victims were targeted specifically, and authorities believe Van Rootselaar acted alone. The investigation is ongoing, with recovered weapons and her background under review. Prime Minister Mark Carney ordered flags to be flown at half-mast in mourning.
I actually like it. I’ve lived in BC and Georgia so have some variety. If you are into hunting and fishing and like winter, it’s good.Is that the choice we have in here? Miserable or suck each other off?
Condolences on Sudbury though breh.
"Gunperson"
What a time we live in.
Sounds like the law almost worked as they removed all guns in the home in the past, but sounds like the owner petitioned for their return and won. Mental health issues including police visits from the shooter. No doubt they will be tightened up even further after this.
It's weird that they said "ever" when the shooting just happened. They've prepared to not ever give a motive.
What the fuck is a gunperson?
They can try and Liberals will certainly use this tragedy to their advantage. No doubt they will be tightened up even further after this.
That was just was Scerpi said. I should have looked it up before responding
I’m seeing the same 30 something number as you. I wish they would differentiate how many injured are from gun shot wounds or if some injuries are like sprained ankles or cuts needing stitches while scrambling to run away
You see anything on the gun used?
I had that in mind yesterday, too soonIs it too soon to make a joke about maybe Canada being the 51st state after all?
Here is a snippet from a non CBC article
McDonald identified the suspect as "an 18-year-old female by the name of Jesse van Rootselaar," adding: "We have a history of police attendance at the family residence. Some of those calls were related to mental health issues."
Police said earlier that the suspect was found dead inside the school from "a self-inflicted injury."
Asked about the suspect's gender identity, he said: "I can say that Jesse was born as a biological male who approximately … six years ago, began to transition to female, and identified as female, both socially and publicly."
McDonald added that the suspect “dropped out of school approximately four years ago and was not currently attending the school.”
