Heading to Sacramento tomorrow for another big 2 day tournament. Looks like the number 1 and 3 guy in the state will be there. New state rankings came out and my son broke the top 23. He was low 30s last week. By far his best season. He was never even ranked any other season. It's pretty crazy because he doesn't have his main training partner either. He blew out his knee playing football. We are hoping for a top 5 placing in Sacramento. Then he has two weeks before his next tournament and he'll be dropping down to 177.

Walk - 20 minutes, 3.0 mph, 6% incline

Man, this was a long 2 day tournament. We were there 11 hours the first day and 8 hours the second day. The kid is just too small for the weight class now. This tournament was 194 which we didn't know it would be that high and he weighed in at 185. The kids were huge compared to him. He still medaled. He took 6th, but was seeded 3rd. I still think he could have got 3rd if these guys didn't have 10 pounds on him. The last guy that beat him looked to be almost 200 pounds lol. He's dropping to 177 for his next tournament in 13 days.

Really proud still. He had some bad losses that he bounced back from. Coming in 10 pounds under changes a lot of things. Handfighting is tougher which he usually is very good at. One kid kept working a front headlock and setting up offense from there and he couldn't clear it which is really not like him. He went 4-3 over two days with 3 pins and a tech, got pinned twice and lost by 3 points. The two times he got pinned he just got kind of bullied being so light. Coming in 10 pounds under and still getting on the podium says a lot about him. We'll fix this. It ain't no thing.

Wasn't feeling pushing some PR's with #32 so starting over with #29, #30, #31 then #32. I'm still good for a deadlift PR of around 600 but I'm not ready yet for bench and squat. Back is just starting to feel better too so I don't want to push it with a deadlift PR right now. Added 20 pounds to bench and squat and 5 to deadlift training maxes.
