Halfway through round 2 it was clear Perry would need a hail mary knockout to win. Not the most unlikely thing in the world, but less likely unless he switched up his gameplan. Because what he was doing against Griffin simply wasn’t working. The broadcast then cut to Perry’s corner to see what sage advice they’d offer their fighter. From there his girlfriend screamed out the useful instructions “KICK THE KNEE! BREAK THAT LEG!”

To say folks on Twitter found her cornering unhelpful would be an understatement.

Tennis, anyone?

Nickerson Statement

“The fight game is a tough one, but you are relentless and can achieve whatever you put your mind to. In order to perform on the highest level everything must fall in place and last night some things didn’t [because you didn't break his knee or leg as advised]. No matter the outcome I will always be proud of you and believe in your [non-breaking] abilities, and you will forever be my favorite fighter. You have been given a divine talent that I know you won’t let go to waste. Next one's the best one @platinummikeperry love you” – Danielle Nickerson

Nope I saw a comment that said if he broke that leg he would have won. This is accurate and factual. Good advice. You can’t keep the Naysh down son.

Maybe Perry should go to a real camp.
No no no, he should keep his GF as a head coach. Seems like an awesome idea from the start. And it will prove us with many more fights of Perry being a walking punching bag.

This isn't as bad, but it certainly qualifies for useless advice,

Barao's corner between rounds 3 and 4 of his 2nd fight with Dillashaw
"C'mon champ, win, just win!"

This is just sexism and butthurt jealousy

Longo told weidman to punch a hole in silvas chest, gsp got told to go hit someone with his injured groin.

TS crushes on an uggo with a pancake ass cos she said hi to him at work once

Break that leg isn't useless advice, just needed some more technical instruction behind it.

Nah, "Sweep the leg" is a classic corner advice.

The worst is when that one guys corner told him to try and punch Diaz's punches on the way in. If you could do that you could easily parry and counter.

I've heard boxing cornermen yell "break his ribs" meaning to hit them as hard as you can in the body. She most likely just meant to throw them to do damage not just to score. If you land a few really hard leg kicks it can make the other guy easier to catch with a punch because they'll start thinking about them instead of exclusively looking for punches to the head.

I agree he should go to a real camp if he wants to improve and it's not a good idea to have his girlfriend with no MMA background as his cornerman but people wouldn't be saying anything if a more qualified conreman said the same thing.

Her in Perry's corner reminded me of Sarah Silverman in Way of The Gun

The only thing wrong is because it's her girlfriend who said that so everybody is jumping on the "worst advice" thing. I don't see anything wrong by telling someone to aim for the knee...

There are countless examples of worst advice than that per example Diego Sanchez corner who told him to get a takedown against BJ Penn after 4 rounds getting beat up, like a takedown will change everything at this point.

the only correct answer is edmund you stupid DNB

Still don't really know who the fuck this guy is or why dweebs on here keep sucking his cock. Seems your usual racist white trash.
