@HI SCOTT NEWMAN Jedi Master Cat making a showing at the Cat House 🐈
I find politics so boring, wish they wouldn't mingle it with UFC, a lot of these events is political now. Nothing more boring to me than politics lol.

Pay fighters more so that they take risky matchups as long as the matchups are interesting (ie. 50/50 toss ups).
Again you are just randomly correlating 2 things that arent

Look at Jones as exhibit A. Offered the largest pay check in UFC history to fight Tom and ran for his life

No evidence that paying athletes more in general will lead to them taking riskier match ups

In fact the opposite is perhaps true

Ehhh...I'd be pretty shocked if they do this deal to get these events on network TV for $7.7b and then 6 months into it he's like "Weeeeeeeeell...this one we're gonna do as a ppv." Bit it's possible, fair enough.
I'd be shocked too. This is like the perfect chance to put something like this on national broadcast and get 10+ million viewers. The advertisement money alone would be ludicrous plus you'd be expanding your viewer base.

100% agree

I legit think i may just skip that event entirely.

(Oh....and I cannot imagine the Secret Service is exactly overjoyed by this news )

Why? You that much of an extremist with your politics?
1. I don't believe in mixing politics with sport, and this event will be drenched in politics etc doesn't matter if it's Trump or Biden or obama or Bush in residency its just a very inappropriate idea to do this, but yes on the business side Dana lives it for a monstrously big publicity push for UFC.

2. Rumors of Mcg being on the card and i cannot stand Mcgregor because he is a Cheat and a scumbag and has been convicted of some very very bad sex assault stuff so he SHOULD be an outcast in every way not a possible fighter on a country leaders lawn.

3. They'll have RAIN COVER for everyone of the 10,000+ people ??? Really? It COULD rain and Dana has always said he hates outdoors events but SUDDENLY now it's magically ok??

4. Every single broadcaster/ analyst/ commentator/ fighter will probably be OBLIGED to indulge in endless sycophancy the entire event which we don't need to be exposed to

5. Any UFC or other sporting event should be solely about the COMPETITORS and their fights and nothing else. This event will be about the LOCATION and nothing else.

Whole thing is inappropriate and stinks.

Prob lots of other reasons but those will do for starters.

Controversial but..... quite likely probably alarmingly close to the actual truth of it given what we know about both those people.
My bet would be on the guy that talks sexually about his own daughters and been convicted of rape

You are cherry picking a guy who was already retired for years and came out of retirement to take very specific match-ups he felt comfortable with. He can do that because he already has a net worth in the tens of millions.

More to the point - the reason Jon could fight a french dude who can't wrestle or a retired 42 year old firefighter is because heavyweight is a barren wasteland. We shuffle around fat old farts because its 12k to get brain damage live on PPV.

That is an absolutely terrible risk -vs- reward proposition. Until the revenue split goes materially up, suitably young suitably talented athletes the size of 185lbs+ are not going to enter MMA.

The NFL has broadly speaking, tens of thousands of good-to-great athletes that would like to be in the league, right now. We get to see elite game play because the pay is high enough to attract everyone capable of doing it at a high level.

The roster depth in MW-LHW-HW MMA is absolutely embarrassing. So is the average and and average athleticism. People with no good options consider MMA>
