One has lost to Fury, Stipe, Derrick Lewis and some cat name Zazoume Cise
The other, has never lost.

Jones had years to fight Ngannou, or Stipe, or Lewis... but didn't. He did sign the very second Ngannou left though.

Coin flip at this stage imo.

Ngannous weakness to grappling isnt anywhere near as glaring as Ganes, and he has way more one shot power. But then Jon Jones is Jon Jones so...you know.

It'd be interesting to see how Jones did against Pav or Aspinall. If he could handle them comfortably i'd favour him over Ngannou.

I feel like Jones vs Gane told us nothing we didn't already know about both fighters. If Jon is on point he can be a very scary wrestler and his submission game is pretty high. With that being said, Ganes made Francis look like. a D1 wrestler so.. and if you remember Jons last few fights at LHW, his takedowns were getting stopped by strikers who had pretty average defense

I definitely could see Francis stopping Jones takedowns at least in the early rounds which would be a huge issue for Jon

I mean it's a fight and either can win. Yeah, Ngannou has massive power and can rip anyone's head off, but Jones is so good everywhere but more importantly the wrestling/ground game. I just see Jones pressing him up on the cage and getting him down, landing shots and looking for subs, tiring him out...maybe getting a finish somewhere.

I can also see Ngannou landing a big shot like a huge uppercut on a Jones entry or a big counter on a Jones missed strike.

I just can't bet against Jones. Too bad we won't see the fight.

What about a fully grown humpback whale sir? You reckon Bones would be able to submit one?

The wahle would dry out in the octagon sooner or later. Bones knows and adds unlimited rounds to the negotiation

Yeah but if Jony is hiding under the octagon, he would likely get crushed, the whale is way too heavy for that structure.

That's why Dana got rid of USADA, no need to hide under the cage anymore.

Even if hard to believe: The fighter going decades undefeated is gonna beat the other guy.

lol @ the poll.

Jon Jones can beat any human in history in an MMA fight. He could most likely beat most fully grown adult animals, including but not limited to tigers, lions, bears, silver back gorillas, alligators, elephants etc

In all seriousness, Jon is too crafty for Francis
He would just pull a Mayweather on Francis and takes his weapons away from him and make him beat to Jon's drum

I don't think it would be an all time classic, some would find it boring, but Jon would put on a masterclass of mixing it up. He could likely grapple fuck Francis

Francis honestly has my upmost respect he is a BAD, BAD dude. Had he picked up the sport earlier? He could be a major goat contender and nobody can take away his natural fighting instincts.

I just think Jon would out think him and do enough to win each round

Yeah Francis is a bad man, and does have the power to knock Jones out.
But Jones fight IQ is simply unmatched. I have no doubt Jones would find a way to win. I believe he would take Francis down and keep him there. It won't be as easy as taking Gane down and controlling him, but with Jones grappling experience i don't doubt him.
Even if the fight is kept standing, I think Jones' defense is good enough, and he would pick Francis apart with leg kicks, spinning elbows, knees etc.

This is considering if Jones is still close to his prime. I think the Gane fight didn't show too much of where Jones is at now. We don't know if he was the same fighter as he was when he beat DC, Shogun etc. He probably isn't, but Francis is not in his prime either

Even is Jones is physically a little slower, it won't matter much
I agree his experience and fight I.Q is what makes the difference here

Francis is definitely a beast but he will be fighting Jon's fight. Although Jones has a very solid chin, I do agree that Francis could knock him out and it is definitely a possibility. I think Jones would have that fear of Francis and that is when great fighters perform their best

You and I don't like Fury, but one of the reasons that fight with Ngannou was so competitive, was because Fury completely underestimated him. A rematch would look way different imo, as Fury now knows he can get his ass kicked

It's like Jon against Santos or Reyes, or Floyd vs Maidana first time out. If you lack the fear of losing, you may fucking lose, or come close to it

Not to quote Rocky (actually Cus D'Amato) but fear is like fire and it has to be controlled. A little fear is a good thing, obviously too much fear is the opposite.

To cut a long story short, Jon would be afraid of Francis and it would make him work harder than ever and you better believe he would also be sharper than ever
