He probably works for sherdog nowYep. Tapout, Dethrone, Affliction, Badboy, all those kick ass shirts were really cool back then. I had a couple of those.
I remember this sherdogger from that era.

Absolutely.
The fighters had much more of an identity back then, whether it was the unique fight trunks or the obnoxious Condom depot ads you'd see on countless asses.
It was far more individualistic, and offered the fighters a means of earning more income. The Reebok deal was disastrous and really made the UFC look tactless and flat out cheap. Not to mention the Reebok gear was far more hideous than any Tapout shirt.
I miss the fighters making money because capitalism is good and Dana was being a authoritarian dick by not allowing companies to go out of their way to give fighters extra money to promote their products.
But that being said TapOut, Affliction, and EverLast are the trashiest douchebag clothing anyone could ware and I’m glad that fashion is dead and buried.
No joke I legit think a lot of MMA’s bad reputation pre TUF Boom or pre InsideMMA came from its connotations with frat bros or the and I hate to say it, but the angry white dude stereotype that was big at the time.Couldn't have said it better myself. Fighters earning more is always good, but...at what cost....
I remember Tapout and Affliction being sold in Target and sure enough there'd be some asswipe at the bar mean mugging everyone because he's in a Tapout shirt. Shit was embarrassing.
The individual expression is a big part of combat sports. The 'corporatization' of the uniforms is disgusting. The fighters look like brainwashed idiot robots with them on. Dana pulled a fast one on the fighters and they bought it like a pimple faced teenager buying the new i-phone.Absolutely.
