Unfortunately words aren't fixed permanent things. Their definitions are to a degree determined by the incorrect slang/extrapolated usage of the general population which eventually becomes official.
Formal definition: Belief in superiority. Ironically this alone is not that controversial because most people concede different genetic branches have an *overall/average* tendency for superior or inferior performance at a given task. Literal racism is... Not that big of a deal.
Traditional critical definition: Someone who explicitly harms other humans based solely on their race. This can range from deliberately promoting their genetic replacement to jumping an individual in a back alley.
Millennial definition: A pejorative term for whites and has no other distinct meaning. None. It makes communication very difficult and confusing.
