WHY does UFC not pad records?

The UFC already has a problem with too many events and fights. They don't have space for it.

Record padding (ala PRIDE) is good when you have a small group of high level fighters and not enough cards to make space for them. UFC has the opposite problem.

So current day UFC is not above letting CM fucking Punk fight. That means it's all about selling and making money. Titleshots go by $$ not ranking etc...

So why does the UFC not do more record padding. Look at the HW division which has been in ruins for a very long time. Bring in a dozen 0-1 or 4-2 warm bodies and let some of the better guys destroy them. You get more fights, better records for the stars and worst case scenario you might end up with a new star
I agree fully. Look at tai tuivasa. Guy has 7 pro fights total, just two in the ufc against bums and now they throw him to arlovski. Hopefully it doesn't backfire else another one bites the dust

They do. According to the ufc Assuerio Silva was 40-4 prior to his fight with Tim Sylvia.

Yes. UFC needs to do squash matches to pad their fighters records. Boxing has done this for a century. Even Pacquiao fought nobodies when he was already a featherweight champ. Even Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Mike Tyson has done squash matches. Look up their records. Obviously there is no assurance that they will win (Buster Douglas fight) so it still makes it an exciting fight because of the huge odds for gamblers.

UFC on the other hand is matching their up and coming stars against each other. Sage vs Gall. Like WTF?! Why the hell did the UFC match these two popular guys instead of letting them gain experience by fighting people at their level or even below their level? And its not even the fucking main event. What a waste!!! UFC also loves to match young fighters against veterans. Example: Yair Rodriguez was a young fighter that has lots of potential and was matched against Frankie Edgar in a fucking undercard?! We all know UFC wants a mexican star and they should've given that guy 3 more fights before letting him fight a veteran. UFC also don't know the popularity of their own fighters. Perfect example is Sexyama who is a celebrity in Japan and Korea. He was fed to monsters like TRT Vitor. And now they are scratching their heads because they don't have a superstar in their roster.

Conor McGregor has a padded record. Look at his UFC record. 50% of his opponents were 3-and-something in the UFC or short-notice opponents. 50% out of 10 fights.

If MMA continues to improve, future MMA fighters are not going to respect these records. LOL
