are we really sitting around pretending it's not Mendes? Both times, Mendes was the undisputed number 2 FW, first time being undefeated, second time only having lost to Aldo.

But Edgar was recent former champ at a higher weight class, AND should still have held the LW belt if not for being robbed in his Bendo rematch.

Mendes was a much better fighter at that point. When they first fought he was a wrestler with rudimentary striking. Then he got with Ludwig and started knocking guys out.

I was taking a dig at Aldo, not at Mendes. His opponent was superb but the win was... not above suspicion.
