My biggest worry about my kid's adolesence is tablets and phones. The desire to have them is crazy. This story is pretty disturbing, but fascinating at the same time.

One thing though I read the OP in the Reddit thread and the story from the OP sounds incredibly fake. Not saying this isn't a real issue, but I cant help but think there is a lot of trolling involved as well.

Maybe i'm desensitized but they seem like poorly made, randomly generated animation with a whole range of themes, some of which seem like they could be attempts at humor that's "lost in translation". A lot of them appear to be of Russian origin.

The live action ones are adults, (seemingly Russian) probably film students making shitty videos of skits involving american children's characters. They don't seem too nefarious either. Might be another case of "lost in translation"/money maker...

They get millions of views and are doing nothing illegal, of course they will continue to make them. I don't have children but I wouldn't let them watch this garbage if i did...

It started with me reading a subreddit called NoSleep, particularly this story:

It was an interesting story. Anyone who doesn't know about Reddit's NoSleep section, its a subreddit for scary stories. Everyone in the comments are supposed to act like the story is real and not call bullshit, for the sake of the page.

This one didn't follow that trend though and the comments began to discuss a conspiracy picking up steam about child traffickers targeting young children through these strange youtube videos. I youtubed "elsagate" and saw a bunch of videos exposing these sick fucks and it really started turning my stomach.

"ElsaGate" is a conspiracy picking up steam that involves child pedophilia rings / traffickers looking to desensitize and confuse children through strange youtube videos that use well known disney/marvel characters. Youtube has done nothing to address the issue.

I've never been one to believe in conspiracy theories but these videos are all STILL UP on Youtube!! You can easily look them up. Why they haven't been removed is beyond me. They're strange as fuck, obviously not for children yet they depict children disney and marvel characters to get them to click. Youtube has seemingly done nothing.

For anyone who looks into it, note the comments. Often in Russian and other languages or just sequences of letters and numbers that people seem to think are code for people interested in pedophilia.

Anyone who is interested in conspiracy theories, look into this one. It's pretty unnerving. I don't have children, but I have a niece who is always on YouTube and this kind of stuff is very worrisome. Here are some videos posted to YouTube "exposing" the conspiracy.

I'm totally confused as to why this would be happening. I mean, if it's to desensitize children so that they would be abducted later and not realize they are victims of crime, I think that simply isn't worth the effort.

Yes, I really don't see the point in that it really materially helps achieve their aims. I mean, if you abduct a kid, you abduct a kid. You could show them homemade videos if you wanted to achieve the same thing, instead of making some sort of pedo-softening videos to be posting the stuff on youtube for the world to see in hopes that kids you kidnap and molest have seen them and are desensitized.

The pedos risk their lives to molest children in the flesh as best I know -- I don't think pedophiles are really thinking "well, let's flood the internet with these videos in hopes of kidnapping a kid who would happen to have seen these videos and be desensitized, so that when we abuse children they don't think it's abnormal what's happening."

I don't see it as the most probable reason why these are being made.

I read an interview with a hacker who brought down a deep web child porn community. Over 10,000 people exposed. When asked about the difference between CP on the "deep web" and CP on the "clear web", he said that it's probably safer to seek it out on the clear web. He said that authorities are almost always well aware of the communities on the deep web (and are often running them). It's easier to find them in numbers when they all congregate to just a handful of web pages.

He mentioned that there are private Facebook communities, and that child porn activity [buying, selling, viewing, communicating] could be found on every single social media website on the clear net. Youtube included. Hiding in plain sight.

I didn't watch a lot of them. Reading what you typed sounds pretty nefarious, in the context of poorly made animation or 1st year foreign film student those things aren't as bad as they sound. There is definitely something off about the videos.

I know for a fact that media manipulates thought. What I would consider nefarious is the programming and imprinting that hides in plain sight, the advertising, toy company's and Disney's of the world that directly and unambiguously target children with many more subtle but equally malicious themes. The things we are encouraged to expose our children to are what we should be concerned about, not this steaming shite (maybe literal) on youtube...
