I'm not as harsh as you, but I definitely feel like each of the three of those guys is not strong when running their own show. The three of them together were goddamn flawless, imo. There's no accounting for it though, it was just magic.

Jim & Sam is good enough that I've been listening to probably 10 hours a week. It's not great but it's growing on me a little.

Have you guys watched Chip Chipperson podcast? I watched a minute here and there and it was wildly uncomfortable and unfunny to me but I can’t say I actually gave it a chance. Chip is one of those things I like but only sparingly

I've seen maybe 10 Chip shows. Like you said it's good in small doses. The character is truly brilliant but way annoying.

As far as my deference to the opinions of other members of the legal community, yes, I think prevalence in the profession is a valid consideration. As I said, you're welcome to revisit that thread I made on this subject and see bar member posters from each side of the aisle submitting that Thomas is a horrible blight in recent Supreme Court history. And, yes, I am additionally not keen on being lectured by moronic partisan laymen about the greatness of a jurist that most every first year law student would concede is laughably inept. I do not care if my absolutist language hurts your sensibilities towards thinking all of your opinions are valid by virtue of the fact that you hold them with sincerity. This may rate particularly high on my condescension and arrogance chart, but fuck it.

None of this looks like evidence of incompetence. Laziness, perhaps. Also, I doubt you can source your claims. I suspect that your claim that he's "disinterested" in his job is not well-sourced.

As for relying on clerks, all SCOTUS justices do so. Are you able to provide a specific way in which Thomas relies on his clerks while the other justices do not? Thomas is the most prolific writer on the Court by a large margin, so of course his clerks work hard. Thank goodness for them---we have been blessed with many brilliant opinions as a result.
