Uriah Hall seizure?

Why not just adjust the weight divisions.

125 flyweight
135 bantamweight
145 featherweight
155 light weight
165 welter weight
175 middleweight
185 super middleweight
195 light heavyweight
205 cruiser weight
206 + Heavyweight.

More weight classes, more competition, an additional champion and you restrict weight cutting to 15 lbs.

Zero sympathy from me.

Weight cutting was meant to help those fighters whose walk-around, low-body-fat weight is a tad north of the nearest lower weight class. For instance, when a guy who weighs 210 pounds and has an extremely low body fat percentage doesn't want to compete against those heavyweight monsters but rather cuts a few pounds and fights in the light heavyweight division.

"Someone's gonna have to die before they do anything about this extreme weight-cutting"

Why is it always "them" that have to do something?

Fighters prefer to “dwarf” their opponents, gives that extra courage and feeling of superiority

They need to add more weight classes.

24 acl tears in the NFL last season! Something needs to be done about these ligaments!!!

More weight classes doesn't solve this entirely.

What do you think everyone at the next weight class up just doesn’t cut weight? I don’t think Hall coming into a LHW contest at 210 lbs or so versus a 230 lb Gus for example sounds exactly tempting
He'd probably be like top 5 at 205 right now. MW is a shark tank, he'd be better off at lhw.

Because there doesn't need to be another division between 185 and 205 which is already weak as it is. Plus, if weight cutting regulations aren't put in place, nothing changes.

Seizures aren't deadly

"Approximately 50,000 people die each year in the USA from status epilepticus (prolonged seizures), SUDEP, and other seizure-related causes. SUDEP accounts for 8-17% of deaths in people with epilepsy. The risk of sudden death in young adults with epilepsy is increased 24-fold compared to the general population."

If you get a seizure....the medical team will get pretty worried. Visit an ICU if you can, learn about it.
